Is there a difference between the 13B-RE air temp sensor and S5 13B-T sensor?

I've tried several sensors, and they were all the same, they read negative, which means that their resistance values did not match what the LT8-s was programmed for.

Now, the person that had this EMS before me said that it was programmed for a 13B-RE. Question is, are their air temp sensors different than the S5 TII's?

My temp ign and fuel maps are zeroed out because of this problem, and I'm hesitant to boost the car when it's cold out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

And macz This temp sendor was recommened on the Microtech forum.

Holy ****, that sensor was what I was looking at yesterday.

How certain are you that this sensor will work?

I looked at mazdatrix to look at the difference between the 13B-REW and 13B-T sensor, and found that they are not the same size. I don't know the resistance values, so I can't help you on that one.

Now a few questions:
What are the resistance values of the 13B-T air temp sensor?

The MSD sensor is 50 - 100k ohms.

Good luck

You cannot interchange 13BREW and 13BT air temp and water temp sensors.
These 2 must be used with whatever the MT was programmed for.
The 13B Cosmo and 13BT are interchangeable.
If you check the resistance on REW and BT, they are very different.
I'm sure Dale , rx72c or maybe Aaron will chime in.

Thanks for replying, boosted1205.

To recap:

The 13B-RE and 13B-T air temp sensors are interchangable, so in other words, they are the same and have the same resistance values correct?

The 13B-REW sensor is NOT the same as the 13B-RE.

My LT8-s was programmed for a 13B-RE, so that rules out the FD sensor since the unit was not programmed for it.

And because my 13B-RE programmed LT8-s is reading my stock 13B-T sensor in the wrong range, maybe it was programmed for an aftermarket sensor.

The whole motif for this thread was to find out whether I needed a 13B-RE sensor or an aftermarket sensor. And if the 13B-RE sensor is in fact, the same as the 13B-T, I have found my answer. I'll have to purchase an aftermarket sensor.

I'm looking at the MSD air temp sensor, but I am not sure if it will work. The resistance values must match the values the Microtech was programmed with.

Last i checked. the plugs are different but the resistance values are the same. but i could be wrong.
