Should the pump come on before I start turning over the engine?
I just got done wiring my LT-8. (very picky) When I tune the key to sec. "click" (before start) I can here the pump running. Is that right? If so, should I just let it run when I set the TPS etc.?
Oh, I should know this but, what type tps is the S4? Shitch?

that is normal.. it is priming the pump and building up fuel pressure.. my wolf 3d does the same thing.. except my wolf only primes the pump for about 1.5 seconds.. the microtech primes the pump for much much longer.. about 5 seconds or more..

No, I have absolutely NO plans on putting some damn Rustang TPS on my car!!! I couldn't give a **** less about that.

I only asked to VERY EZ ?'s about my Microtech, and it took a Wolf guy to give me the answers to my ?'s. When I start thinking about selling the new MT & going Haltech, before I even have it going, there's a prob. I could get a A+ map for my car right now, no matter what setup I'm using, If I got a Haltech insted. I new that before I whent MT, but I didn't know that getting anwers to my ?'s was going to be a pain to no end.

Laugh.. I'm sure the microtech top dogs are busy and havn't had much time to answer questions in here.. that being said, I find it kind of ironic.. a friend of mine , who shall remain nameless, but does own an 88 turbo 2 belived that there would be good support for the unit and based part of his purchase on that fact.. I guess at begining there looked to be like a whole lot of tech support for the unit.. everyone was excited and questions were answered promptly.. but perhaps that was just during the initial push of the unit. from what I've seen now, even the MT dealers are a little "lost" on some technical issues concerning the unit...
Mind you, I shouldn't really be saying much about tech support, since there is very little in the way of support for the Wolf3d as well.. but I've had enough time tuning it to now know what's going on with it.. That all being said, I like the microtech (except for the way you actually program it) .. it's got some great features that the wolf is missing.. It would just be nice to see if there were knowlegeable enough people out there to answer questions on how to exploit some of those great features... I'd like to get my hands on one and give it a go in my car.. see how it stacks to the wolf with driveability.... Hmmm. .anyone want to trade their MT for a wolf ver3.1 ?

TPS makes no difference to the way the unit is configured, you can use any tps off any car and it will make no difference at all to your unit.
the best bet is a standard delco one, they are cheap and with some mods they will fit ok,
i use the stock TPS with no problems they can be a little bit funny sometimes,
if your in matrix mode the TPS is only use if you are using TPS mapping, it will make no difference to the idle etc.

ive been ill for a few days and havent been able to get online, i get hundreds of questions asked of me each week and its not my full time job to be answering microtech questions i just do it in my spare time to help people out.
Dealers that sold you the product are number 1 place to call with questions, weather it be BR7, CFT, Aspec, RX7 store etc,
i will answer your questions, just bear with me!

Please don't get me wrong. I don't expect you or anyone else run jump in and tell my everything as if your obligated to. That's not the case. Just thought it to be kinda rude, for someone to post on my thread, when they know the answer to the ? and not tell me. That's all.

the stock tps works fine! the only reason you would change it is if it was faulty or you wanted to know the throttle position all the way through the range.

The sound of the Fuel Rails I hear when I turn the Ign ON sounds like they are literally going through the Fuel Injectors. Almost like the Rotor Chambers are filling up with Fuel. I have yet to pull the Primary Rail out to test this. Turning the Ign ON, a few times, prior to starting, makes It all the harder to start up. Maybe I'm looking Into this to much. Am I the only one?

The ECU does run the pump to prime the fuel system when you first power the ECU up. If you had a problem with injectors leaking and you are using a high flow pump and a stock fuel pressure regulator you will have higher than normal fuel pressure you could be trying to flood the car if the injectors leak under the higher pressure.
I haven't noticed my car being hard to start if I cycle the key a few times, but I am using brand new 720cc injectors in all 4 holes, are you using stock injectors in your primaries? If so you might want to look into replacing them, a local guy here had some stock 550's and his car didn't want to idle near as smooth as mine, he went to 4x720cc and the car now idles baby smooth.

If you are running all 550's, swap the primaries with the secondaries to see if the problem persists. The primary injectors could need a good cleaning. I recommend shipping them to www.cruzinperformance.com for the cleaning. Excellent service for USD$11/ea.
If you are pulling the primary fuel rail to check if the injectors leak, have something holding the injectors to the fuel rail. It makes a hell of a mess when the fuel pump comes on to prime the system and the pressure shoots the injectors across the garage. Ask MikeL from teamfc3s, he can verify

It turned out the Secondary Rear FI was spewing out fuel when the Ign was ON. It kept going even after the Ign was OFF, releiving all pressure from the stuck wide open FI. Got It quickly replaced by my good man Aaron Cake. I still couldn't believe the amount of fuel coming out. It was literally filling up the Intake tract!
