the timing lock is in the setup screens,

Jon has it here at http://www.microtechefi.com/mt_setuptips.asp
it is the same in the software, just scroll to the setup screen and press p on the timing lock and set the timing and the press p again to turn the lock off

you will have to advance the timing by the 15deg you took out, then lock it and set it unlock it!

cooL, everything is A o K NOW, it's too scary though, because it's soOOOOoo SMOOTHER AND QUIETER than before makes me think that i stall, i still have no tach and my car usually stalls, and since it's so quiet i keep on worrying about stalling, but everything is fine now, idles at 680-750 seems normal!

THANKS EVERYONE!

o yeah i have no intake and my TURBO SPOOLS SOOO LOUD and MY BLOW OFF VALVE IS SOOO LOUD!, and it spools really quick, sounds almsot like a turbo HONDA, even thoughi have no tach feels like it pulling at 2500 instead the usual 3k.

That is great news! I was really worried that this was going to get a lot worse before it got better. You asked so many questions after the damage was done that I figured you might fry the Microtech before it was all over.
If the truth is known I am not the only person that read this thread thinking that way.

i'm still not done, i can't even drive this car at night because no front lights. evrything from the front fenders onward doesn't work, no signal lights no nothing. my gauges doesn't work, ADCEPT FUEL, which i got help on to get it working, my temp gauge i don't even know where to start, RPM i know it's the yellow wire, just too lazy to get it in, my speed works atleast, i install my heater and stuff it works, no a/c so i don't really care, the WINDSHIELD WIPER doesn't work because i unplugd everything and don't know where does the wiper connect to, is it a black connector near the ECU? i need to get a FSM dammmit. and what else......

guess that's about it, o yeah my wires, sucks, well not my wires but the Electrical Tape, no matter how strong and etc i try to tape it, they come loose, i'm going to order the INJECTOR connector clips and some SHRINK RAP i blieve, what else can i use to get the wires protected? i have the LOOM thingy abotu 5ft of it covering the exposed wires already just that the e-tape doesn't hold it close good enough..

your factory temp gauge isn't going to work unless you rewire it. It's part of the engine harness. Not a huge deal but still a wire you have to run.. the wiper plug in is also part of the engine harness. Well, not part of it but integrated into it. If you read the post about wiper motor stuff i explain on how that one works.

Just to quell your fears, Scalliwag, what 600HP CLUB did is definitely the non-standard way of doing things!

Briefly, one encounters the same issues with a Microtech EMS as any other. The water temp gauge, cruise control and windshield wipers must be rewired. If you want to keep the stock boost gauge (why? ) you can keep the TII pressure sensor and rewire that to the gauge as well. You've got to splice into the coil section of the driver's side harness right near the plug. If you want to make things really clean, you can pull the d-side harness and consolidate it, but it's optional and strictly for the hardcore.

Don't get scared. A standalone isn't as small a step as, say, an S-AFC, but it's been done thousands of times before.

I AM HARDCORE..hahahah i don't trip Scalliwag, i don't read that's my problem, i should'of sat down a read before i did anything with the microtech stuff, cuz i'm crazy like that. i don't give a crap about the boost gauge cuz i already have one, just the temp and windoshiled wipers that's about it, my headlights and stuff didn't work because i thought, if racers didn't need this i don't need it, then i foudn out, o ****. idid need it. hahah clumsy me.

It was actually his first and second post that scared me

600HP said "on the driver's side harness (IN ENGINE BAY), i cut EVERYTHING OUT, nothing is on the driver side harness, it only goes to the my front light and connected to the OTHER (BATTERY/ALT) HARNESS, i cut everything by slicing it out and just covering it's with electrical tape, i don't know it's safe or not just cutting and placing electrical tape over it, seeing that the wires are not being used no more it think it's alright, then i took the harness for the leading and trailing coils, so i can connect those to the LT8. Then i'm going to cut the CAS harness and put LT8 wires into that, so what do everyone think?"

I was pretty sure that he had not spent much if any time getting a solid game plan in place.
The Microtech doesn't scare me, but 600HP sure does!

If you can admit that fact, then you definitely are not stupid. I'm pretty impressed with your work and getting your car running. It was that first post that really scared me as well

I agree. You are in your formative years as far as cars go and it is experiences like this that will teach you alot more than anyone can ever tell you. You are probably looking back at this now and thinking "damn, I wish I had that to do oer again".

YUP! if i knew what to do, dammit **** i would done this less than 3 hours! but o well, it's all about trial and error when it comes to upgrading cars, (not trial and error upon fixing cars because i know fixing just not upgrading)

Experience is something you only get when you don't get what you want the first time!

Haha! Yes, I have always learned by fugging something up real good the first time and then stepping back and looking it over and see how I "should" have done it.

my head lights works! yay!

no signal and stuff yet, i figured i suppose to rewire everything until i saw the FSM, and i cut two important things...the headlight relay and dimmer...and now it works..

TACH OUT DON'T TACH....

i used the tach out wire, into my tach, YELLOW AND BLUE wire...nothing comes out..i have a 5 inch monster autometer tach (riceboy i know) got it free so minus well use it, i tired to connect the 4 cylinder wire to the trailing (yellow wire) still doesn't work? does that mean the coil TACHOUT part broken? there is also a grey wire, should i check that?
