MT and emissions

Am I correct in thinking that I should be able to lean out my streetported 87 NA with my LT10 enough to pass an emissions test?

Does anyone have any experience with this? I have to pass a treadmill test. I just tried on Saturday and failed the Hydro Carbons and the Carbon Monoxide(?).

leaning out will cause the hydro carbons to go up,

make sure your cat is good and do a search on "emissions test" im sure you will find the info you need
