Microtech Shutting down laptop software

Long story short looking at a T2 fully built with a Microtech LT-10s ,

Symptoms

When laptop plugged in to microtech and tuning w/ microtech program , when getting in the higher boost levels / RPM (over 16 PSI / 7000rpm +++ ) The microtech shuts down the program on the laptop. There is nothing wrong with the laptop or software since this does not happen with any other microtechs the tuner tunes.

This is what was described to me, i have not seen it happen but it is preventing the car from getting a full proper tune and the owner thinks its a ground problem.

Has anyone had this happen before and what could it be? Looking to possibly buy this car soon so input would be great.

Thanks

PS... There is also 1 slightly leaky secondary injector, could this be part of the problem?

Cheers

-Collin

Are you saying that the software is crashing?

If that's the case, just to be thorough, I'd try it with another laptop.

Im picking up the car on the weekend, ill go over all of the microtech wiring then will bring it to tuner to see if the problems cleared up. Quite sure he has a different laptop by now lol

you need to use resistive plugs and leads, rfi is corrupting the serial connection

So what your basically saying is the serial - usb cord they could have potentially been using was low quality? That could make sense also and save me lots of time on checking the wiring.. Its a maybe for getting that car right now.

possibly-
and/ or
some plug and lead combos ( and alts and fans and wiring ground loop issues )
can sing so hard they corrupt the 12V and internal 5v bus for tps on the ecu
and you just have to change back the plugs to FD or rx8 resistive types ( and get silicon suppressed leads )

check first what plugs the car is running
,, if they are bike plugs ( like eg or egv ) or the racing trust or NGK types , then they are most likely culprit
