Microtech LTX8 - New

Question:

Would you pay $1,550.00 for a Microtech LTX 8 with all peripherals except the Dash unit? Is this ECU really worth that much?

There is a worldwide shortage of this unit so looks like the law of supply and demand is in effect. Normally, this unit is in the $1200.00 range.

Thoughts?

I just payed $1477 for the newer LTX8S with 3 bar map sensor. 1550 seems a bit much...

I payed 1100 for the LTX8 I have now(but it was burned for a FC so I can't use it)

Drivegrp what car do you have. I have a LTX8 that is New in box I'll sell it too you if you have a FC

Buy mine for $1000 and even if you have an FD you can get it reburned through microtech and it will still cost you less

Don't pay that much for that unit

modrx7,

I have an FC with a 13B-RE, T66, p trim, .81 A/R, divided, 24x10 FMIC, etc. waiting to be installed. I am definitely interested in your LTX8. Does it come with the hand set, laptop adapter, harness, software, 3 bar map sensor?

Let me know the details and we'll work something out.

Thanks!

Well it is a complete unit... I just bought it from a shop and found out that it was burned for a FC.... I have a FD so I do not need it, and just bought the new LTX8S last week. My email is edan.antonetti@hope.edu if you want pics. I have the software, bosch fuel pump relay, LTX8, and harness.

This would definetly work for you.

Edan,

That sounds good - let me know what you find out. I am exchanging threads with Tim at Microtech as we speak to determine if your unit will work for the RE.

Thanks again for the call.

Dale/Edan,

Both of you confirmed that this unit will work for the RE and so has one of out tuners here in CA. I'd like you to read the respone below from Tim at Microtech and see what you think. Is he smoking crack or just want new business?

>>

$150.

Tim,

Are you saying that this LTX8 that is burned for a 13BT will not work for my 13B-RE? How much for re-config?

Thanks!

Yes, every unit is for a specific application. It needs to be sent back for re-config

Question:

Are the LTX8 units burned/flashed for a specific car. I have a Mazda RX7 with a 13B-RE cosmo motor. Can these units be burned for this car? I have a guy here locally that has an LTX8 that is burned specifically for an FC (13BT). Will that work for the 13B-RE?

Please advise.

Thanks!

tim may be getting confused with the 13brew FD motor which definatly will not work with the microtech you have,

the FC s4.s5 and cosmo motor all have the same CAS and will all work with each other,
