Um, OK. Is it rich? Lean?
Off hand, I don't know if the Microtech does altitude compensation. It would surprise me if it does since even in London Ontario vs. Australia, my Microtech reads 2" of vacuum at atmospheric.

the map sensor should auto compensate. i drive at various altitudes for hundreds/thousands of miles on a single trip and have no issues.
the car probably developed a boost issue that is coincidental. wastegate could be stuck, boost controller faulty in failsafe mode or boost leaks(i don't trust that someone just sais they have no boost leaks without saying how they tested the system or how thoroughly, the ONLY way to accurately test for leaks is by pressurizing the system).
