Which Microtech to go with?

What are the differences between the microtech models?

do all of them have a wideband/datalogging feature? or is that one of the options?

who has the best price on these setups?

did your microtech come with all the wiring needed or did you by that on your own?

TIA

The LT8S was discontinued in August. The 10 is now the base model. There are probably plenty of 8s left but just a FYI. I'd try to pick up something with wideband logging. I've worked with a few MTs lately and I really like them but the lack of wideband logging on the 8s is frustrating.

The Microtech kits are fairly complete with the exception of a controller. I'd skip the hand controller and just get a laptop adapter. The laptop display is more useful and efficient IMO. Wideband logging is available for the 10 and 12 but it's optional. Again, I'd go with that. Other than that you'd be set. The 2.5 bar map sensor is internal to the ECU so there is no need to order one seperately. If you want to run more than 20psi boost a 3 bar or larger map sensor is optional.

I haven't shopped for MTs so I don't know much about pricing, but when I needed a laptop adapter this was one of the only places I found that had one on hand and they had the best price by far. They were very nice on the phone. Good experience! A-Spec on here is also a dealer. Sean is a good guy to work with if you can get them on the phone.

I've tuned some MT cars recently and have become fairly fond of the ECU. We also do installs here. If you need any help just follow the link below and call or write.

We have a few diehard rotary people down here. I'm just across the river from Louisville. Not much in the way of active meets and what not but it's pretty tight knit and if you need parts or help there are a lot of guys to pitch in.

And I own a Dodge/Cummins. My 2nd one. I love them! Keep up the good work.

Whatever you chose. Get the 3bar map option. Just in case you heavily mod down the road. LT8S user and love it. Will be going single by next summer. G

The 8S can also be sent back for the wideband datalogging option. I just did it and it is way worth it. MT told me that any S series ECU can now be upgraded to do wideband data logging.

What was the turnaround time? I'm hoping any minute that they will have the high-res code done so I would like to send my ECU back this winter for those options (as well as the BAC!!).
