You can run any coil you like as long it does not have the igniters built in the coil . Here is the manual with the wiring diagram http://www.microtechusa.com/Download.../MT_manual.pdf .

Diagram for X4box?

X4 box plugs into your microtech loom with a 4 pin plug coming from the main loom.

If you have the X4box you must either run 4 bosch coils or 4 mazda fc trailing coil packs(without ignitors) will work fine.

X4 box is easy to wire up.

Black wire goes to the block(its earthed on the block)
Yellow = Leading 1 Negative of coil pack
Orange = Trailing 1 Negative of coil pack
Yellow/Black= Leading 2 Negative of coil pack
Orange/Black= Trailing 2 Negative of coil pack

^^^ cool thats how i wired it up but it's still not starting. it trys but only one of them is actually firing..

how do you have to wiring up the power wire? and i didn't even see a black ground wiring.. where does it connect to the coils?

i just have 5 colors that i can see yellow, yellow & black, orange, orange & black, and pink. and i'm assuming that the pink one is the power wire

also how can you tell if they have ignitors?

thanks
Jordan

Their is no power wire.

Someone has screwed up your loom?

The x4box loom 100% has a earth wire on it. AND IF THIS IS NOT EARTHED YOU WILL BLOW YOUR X4 BOX.

Their is a pink wire that comes from your ecu box loom(the big one) ,this goes to ignition, BUT THEIR IS NO WIRE THAT COMES FROM THE 6PIN PLUG ON THE X4BOX THAT GOES TO IGNTION, the wire that is PINK on your loom should be black and should be earthed on the block.

Its a box with ignitors in it, old microtech ecus used to have them inbuilt in the main ecu case, due to heat and other associated problems, they were moved into a seperate box, this also allowed the x4 box to pump more power through the coil packs.

So its also a ignition booster.

did you earth the wire off the x4 box?
Can you take a pic off your plug so i can see if the earth wire is in the right pin?

You may possibly already have blown your x4 box.

its wired up right i just didnt see where he had it grounded at. and if my 4x box was all ready blow would i still have a signal at all? cause i can and have gotten it to start but its only on one coil on th lead front rotor to actually fire the others dont register anything on the lt10s. could it be more bad coils? would bad coils cause it not to register the signal wires?

if the bad coils are open circuit yes it will not signal but that will usually melt the x4 box and blow the fuse on the power wire going to the coil packs.

How are you testing the signal?

Btw I tested the coils by grounding a spark plug to the body. And all of my coils are good and the problem is actually that I'm not gettong signal from leading 2 and trailing 2 signal wires? Do I have a blown 4x box? Would only half the signal go out? I'm so confused.

Thanks
Jordan
