lt-8 coilpack question.

im fairly new to all this, so excuse me if my termanology isnt perfect.

im wondering if the factory coil pack things have their own computer (6 wires in a parralell line) and if that computer is unessicary if i have a stand alone.

What model Rx-7 do you have?

If its the s4/s5 coils the ignitor is built in to the coil packs so no 6 wire box there, and are fired by the main ecu. There is a modification necessary to use factory coils with the LT10, I'm not sure about the LT8.

On the lt8 using stock fc coils you can leave the ignitor alone just wire them like it shows in the lt8 wire diagram ...
