.. 100% sure its the unit, when i was reving we wobbled the wires and it reved good at points so we thought it was the wiring.. when we swapped the microtech unit for a brand new one and pluggd it it it worked flawlessly , and we wobbled to wires alot to see if it would mess up and it didnt so it is the unit, the previous owner was the first owner of that microtech

Yep. Well ill just give you some friendly advice. If the computer got cooked, its not cause it decided to cook itself all of a sudden, electrics dont generally do that, youll find you have a problem in the wiring that has caused it.
So just becareful when your new unit has been installed that your not going to end up with another wrecked unit.

thanks for the advice. im sure its not the wiring though, the guy who wired it for me knows his microtech very very well , and wiring (which we have checked over many many times) , the ecu is fine, i have a zap strap on the part where it plugs in and the car is running perectly and revving flawlessley, but if the zap strap is off it dosent somtimes, so i hope it had nothing to do with the wiring , the ECU isnt brand new it was in my friends car for around 2 years, he never mounted it properly so that could have done it... but ill let you know if it messes up again , if that happens, i will be getting a new ECU and will be extremely pissed

The fact that you have put a zap strap on the connector tells me that either the wiring loom connector or the pins in it or damaged, or worse yet the pins in the computer are damaged, have a look at them closely and see.

its the pins in the computer i beilive... because we swapped microtechs and wiggled around the wiring harness alot to see if the revs bogged / studdered like they were doing before but they were perfectly fine, then when we plugged into my microtech again it was messed up.. im sending it into microtech so they can take care of it professionaly im terrible with electronics
