Hard starting/ Need map for 720 primaries - s4 13bt street port.

Mods..
difficulty starting/holding idle. fresh rebuild on 720 primaries. Anyone have a map?
Street port, 720 primaries/ 1680 secondaries.

I'm having a hard time getting the car to run right just on idle. Does anyone have a base map for 720's or something close??

I know the motor will run. It's a tuning issue thats keeping me from doing it.

Any help is appreciated.

Can you post a screenshot of your current map? With the stock base map, the car should start and run reasonable well on 720CC primaries.

This is Himniracing's map.
I'm wondering if i set timing correctly.
I'm usuing a mazda racing crank pulley and it has 7 marks for timing, and i have it at the 10 degree mark when stabbing the CAS. I need to see if the keyway is at the 9 oclock position and try stabbing again.

I could get it running, but it was only on one rotor and then figiting with the fuel, the second rotor would eventually try to kick on. I think its just way too rich and flooding the rotor.

I tried silverrotor's map for the idle screen. This hand controller is really upsetting me with the buttons, they don't work sometimes.

Thanks.

Those values look reasonable, I don't know what to tell you.

The easiest thing to do at this point to prove it's too much fuel is to adjust the MixTrim value negative until the engine cleans up. Then you can look at the PWM times being output and apply those to the idle screens.

2psi ... 2.6

Change these 2 values as they will affect your start up.

Whats is your staging set at?
50%?
99%?

I'm lost.. what do you mean staging?

Load settings will effect idle??

I'm still learning a lot of this system.. its hard to learn so far.

Thanks for your help.

You need to zero the timing before you destroy the engine. I love when people stab the CAS and hope it's right. PM me if you need help. Timing will effect everything so that is the first thing you need to get correct.

I set timing in accordance with the mazda racing pulley setup chart below

i set it at the ten degree mark.

I'm really thinking of going with the stock pulley for simplicity though..

If you aligned the marks on the CAS and then dropped it in with the pulley set at 10* BTDC your timing is off by 15*. And have you shot it with a timing light to confirm it's zeroed?

The MT zeros at TDC. So with the timing locked you should have the TDC mark on the pulley aligned with the timing indicator. No need to swap pulleys. Just make sure it's properly adjusted.

Ok, so i should set it at the first mark 0 degrees? or 5 ATDC?

I shot it with a timing light and i was hitting the 10 degree BTDC.

as far as i read it in the manual they want you to set it at 5*ATDC mark to zero it out. that is how i have been doing it but who knows.. maybe i have been doing it wrong. all the cars i have set at the stock 5* marks idle perfect so i would take a stab that that is where they want it.

as for maps, it would have to be the same exact setup. 720 primaries doesn't mean much, unless everything else is in line with your setup it just needs to be fine tuned by you.
