Haltech TPS on microtech?

I'm settin up my intake manifold and can fit a haltech d-shaft TPS quite nicely and it should be fairly accurate, my question is can it be read by the microtech lt10s? Thanks!

You can run any TPS you wish.

Question about TPS units?

Just wondering what the difference is between the variable style compared to the Mazda OEM TPS.

Thanks

well if you have a s5 and wire up the variable tps instead of the switch type its just as accurate as the haltech sensor. youll find most people wire up the switch type.

Mazda's TPS is a variable resistor, as are all TPSs that aren't a simple switch.

Honestly with the Microtech it matters not what type of TPS you run, as with most standalones. You can run stock, GM, Ford, a switch, etc.

But I always prefer a full range TPS because it's very handy for data logging, necessary to run Alpha-N (for large ports like peripheral) and can make tuning the accelerator pump easier (sometimes MAP-dot doesn't work as well as it could).

Thumbs up Helpful information about TPS units

Thanks for the good information I really appreciate it. So do you know who would have a TPS unit that would fit onto a 3/8" shaft for my carbs. Most of the sites I have seen so far only carry the D-Style TPS units. Since I will be retro-fitting my carb with a TPS I need a unit that can be bolted to my throttle shaft of my carb.

Thanks
Albert

Aaron, will the haltech be sufficiently accurate for Alpha N tuning? I dont anticipate a very good vaccum signal from the ITB's and will likely be doing most of my tuning based off the TPS, is there a better unit that you can suggest? Thanks!

The "accuracy" of the TPS will depend on how well it's mounted. If at zero throttle it reads 0%, and at exactly WOT it reads exactly 100%, then it will do the job very well.
