Yes it can.
Its not about the amount of cylinders.
Its about the Crank pickup setup.

rx72c i put your setup in and she fired rite up but shes running realy phat and loads up then floods out after a 5 minute warm up. i have some other things to check with first but is there anything you think i could try. this is a new rebuild and i added some oil to the first few gallons but that mix mite be a bit to strong. im going to try and lean the mix out more and see what happens

You didnt try and let it idle when its cold did you?

New engine. Keep your foot on the accelerator and make sure it gets warm.
Then start playing with the mixtrm to get it right.

THIS IS A MUST,especially with a new engine.

yea i did this for the first few starts .. now were having a problem with the t2 coil not giving spark. and the engine runs like its only seeing leading or in limp mode with poor rpm climbs. . we had the coils wired up as stated in one of your older post and it fired up with just the L1,L2,T1 coils, changed the coils and the same thing happens. we tried pink-teal/grey with wht-blk/gry and it still fires and runs the same way.. wht is the gry/wht for?

If you have wired it correctly and its not working. Something wrong with the ecu.
I know their was another guy on here who had the same problem, i personally have never had this problem, he may have found a solution to the problem.

yea these are on new plugs. what ever is going on its only firing on the L1,L2,T! coils we changed the coils and wiring and its the same everytime. but the crazy thing is, it was running good for a bit then it started this had it run for about 45 minutes came back the next nite to repeat this cycle and this started. i think im just going to over nite it to rx72s to get it straitin out....

can i run test mode and just see if im getting an ark off the blugs?

Both the FD3S and FC3S have relucter crank angle senors, so WHY do they need to be sent in for reprogramming when it SHOULD be a matter of just changing a setting in the tuning software and not a hardware modification? While I'm at it, when is Microtech going to let you save your maps to the laptop for offline viewing/modification like they promised 4 years ago?

Please mate. Do not treat me as if i am microtech.
I sell them. I offer post sale support etc for them. I help people as much as i can. But you cant hold me accountable becasue the people that run microtech are not customer orientated.

The same questions you are asking, i have asked for years, just get ignored.
