what a freaking mess. burnt up stuff
so ill start by posting this. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/blew-engine-rough-idle-no-power-fireballs-exhaust-660846/
so even though the compression isnt great, it should be good enough to run. i decided to pull the computer out to go over it thinking something could have come un soldered since it kind of acts like not having the maf plugged in. i took pics but i cant find the usb cable to upload at the moment so ill describe what i see. about 1500 miles before this issue i had a capacitor pop. its the one by the laptop plug. i got that fixed slicker than snot and everything was great but it smelt burned.
today i see something so much more bad. when i initially looked at it, it looked fine. then i took the board out of the case and flipped it over. one of the long jumper wires is un soldered and all 3 have some white residue on them. again on the laptop side. now where the resistor was, its track in the board is black and crispy looking all the way across the board. also by where the vac line plugs in, the mysterious white powder stuff is on some of the points there. and im not sure if this is right but in the middle of the board it says "vrout"and right below the R there are 3 solder points. im not sure if they are supposed to have something on them but they all 3 have long leads coming off them. now when i flipped it over i found a burned component. on the engine harness side, under the big black round thing(have to bend that up to see it) there are black components with a smaller red one on either side. with the engine harness pins pointing at you, the black one on the right is smoked. it has a big crack right down the middle of it. and its charred. they both have numbers on them but they have residue so i cant read what they say.
do these issues have any affect on what i am experiencing? how to i keep my computer from frying different components every other month?
ill post pics asap. probably tomorrow

I did... He had some issues with an inconsistant connection which I thought was the cause of the initial component failure. However, I am thinking that there is more of a harness problem. that computer ran in my car flawlessly for quite some time before installed into this one. stock n/a drivers side harness, and my own hashing of the passenger side harness (efi harness)
