i have had blown motors before.. none of them have acted like this. i was driving down the freeway in 5th gear at about 2500rpm. everything is normal. good oil pressure and im not in boost. normal water temp and every thing is good as gravy. then i down shift to 4th for an off ramp to another freeway. i get around the ramp and press the gas to get back to speed and it feels like im hitting a wall. it will speed up but is struggling and my boost gauge is now showing 1.2bar where it normally runs .8-1 bar. 1.2 bar and not moving... something is wrong. so i pull it in neutral to see if it will idle.. it just dies off. i let out the clutch and it keeps going. i think ill just handle it when i get to where im going. its not far and if i get stuck id rather it be there. so i get there and there is a lot of oil burning off the downpipe heat wrap. ruh roh. then i grab both rad hoses and the rad its self. all normal and the rad is pretty damn cold. then i pull plugs for poor mans comp test. sounds good. then i try to start. it wont. just cranks. exhaust note sounds normal though. we pull start it and it starts pretty easily but will still not idle. so i get followed back home and it seems like it wants to clear up. more confusion. and it is also throwing an extreme amount of fireballs. doesnt have the power to pull a grade in 5th and my down shift to 4th makes huge flames.

so what do you guys think it is? im thinking maybe im lucky and its an injector or maybe the megasquirt went stupid and is messing something up. anyway. sorry its long but im frustrated and need help. thanks guys

Get a datalog of what the MS is doing. To me, with the fireballs shooting, it might be a stuck injector.

sounds like you have a boost/vacuum leak, don't let normal boost levels fool you.. also do a real compression test to verify you didn't chip a seal.

ok finally got around to a comp check.. 65 up front 90 in the rear. no bueno
