Tach signal

I have been troubleshooting for a couple days now and have read and read and read and I can not get a tach signal. I have checked my jumpers and everything else that I can see related. Is there anything comenly missed? Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

What I was doing was using the stimulator and testing everything before I install. All my other guages function when twist the pots, but I don't get any rpm. I am using the 3.0 board setup for a TII RX7. I have it setup with the vr sensor and I am cutting the 2 teeth out of the cas. If you need more info let me know. Thankyou for the response.

make sure the pots on the v3 board are all the way counterclockwise, and turn on the "stim for wheel" option in the spark menu. Set it to 2.

Also, remember to turn this option off once you put the MS in the car.

when testing with the stim, you turn on "stim for wheel", do you still have to wire in the crank sensor and spin it? or does the stim provide a simulated vr signal?

the reason i ask is because i built a the dual lm1815 circuit and wasnt sure on how to test it. so far i tried plugging the whole thing into the car and nothing. So i'm thinking i musta built the circuit wrong or i fried the lm1815. i set everything up as per the FAQ.

setting with stim for wheel, it should just work on the stim. You don't have to hook up a CAS.

I need more info for you as well turbosa22c if you want any help... I need to know exactly what you wired where.

Ok I have relized my problem is I didn't have the wheel decoder configured. I am not quite sure how to do that as well. I will try to find something in the morning. Is this also why I don't see any of the extra settings. One last question is there a faq anywhere on how to flash to get the msnse programmed squirt? Thanks in advance?

Check that out, go to the "Download" link specifically. There should be a readme somewhere that tells you how to reflash.

I finally got it flashed. I was doing everythig right before it just wasn't flashing. I used a diffrent version of msnse and it worked. I am still not getting an rpm signal when I set it stim for wheel. I thought I read somewhere that it is real hard to get this signal with stimulator using the vr sensor instead of the other sensor. Do you know if this is correct?

Did you turn both of the potentiometers to their fully counterclockwise positions? Did you jumper everything correctly to get the signal from the tach pin to the vr sensor conditioner, then to the MS chip?

I need at least this info before I can help you any further.
