Speed input from FC

Hey, I am wanting to use the boost by MPH option. It uses a speed sensor input.

I know the FC uses a cable driven system but I know at least some models have the gauge clusters that have an electronic output wire for speed. I'm pretty sure it's used for the intelligent MPH based power steering setup some models got..

Anyone ever use this option? Or think this will work?

I'm pretty sure you can use the cruise control wire. I don't know whether it is square square wave signal or very voltage, ect. Iirc, fc3spro has some info about it on their text pages.

Alright, I rigged up the speed output wire to a 12v input pin on the Ms3x and for about a week it worked, but highly off scale. At 0 MPH on the gauge, megasquirt said it was 0 MPH. At 10 MPH on the gauge, megasquirt said 35 MPH, by 45 MPH on the gauge, megasquirt said 100 something MPH. Once it got really high, it began to start glitching and running around in circles.

Then, one morn when I started the car, I noticed the MPH gauge was speed spinning full circles and randomly glitching about even when the car was stopped.

So I disabled the function, and haven't messed with it since.

I plan to check the speed output module with the service manual I guess.

Anyone got any idea's?
