I think Rotarygod was running tests with an RX-8 with a Megasquirt and the stock ECU running in parallel last year or the year before.

 

in the msn2 extra rotary split table setings says rx8 mode enable or disable what that means? and how is wired? Gracias

I've posted info about it on msextra and here.

rx8 mode allows you to run 4 coils. You have to turn on FD mode to get the COP trailing to work, then turn on rx8 mode to get COP leading to work.

Looking at the front of the MS:

Left LED: front leading
Right LED: front trailing
Middle LED: rear trailing
JS11: rear leading

For JS11, you should build a circuit that looks like the other three LED circuits to drive the 4th coil, assuming you're using rx8 coils.

I made it run on fuel only control but that was before it was able to control ignition. Now you can just reprogram the factory ecu so we abandoned that project. However if anyone ever installs a Renesis into another car, it would be worth doing.

Not ambitious enough to try to do everything at once though. I want to get the MS running on my 12A first, then maybe some suspension and steering stuff, and then deal with the Renesis. Or 16X if it's around by then.

 

well, the 16x is direct injected, which is something megasquirt doesnt support (at least not yet)
