what do you mean when you "do rpm"

With the MS set up for the rx7, you really shouldn't be able to get rpms on the stim at all.

What are your zero-crossing and hysteresis pots set to?

Turn them fully counterclockwise.

Did you jumper the MS for VR input?

According to the megamanual:

For the VR sensor:

* Jumper VRIN to TACHSELECT on the bottom side of the PCB (near the DB37, opposite the heat sink.)
* Jumper TSEL to VROUT (Or VROUTINV if you want the VR input to be inverted) on the bottom side of the PCB, near the center.

TSEL should be connected to VROUTINV for an MS1 chip.

Try setting everything up properly for the rotary, and then using stim-for-wheel with a setting of "2" and let me know what happens.

Stim for wheel is a setting in the "Spark" menu. Just look there for it.

It takes a signal from a normal stim, and generates wasted-spark/rotary outputs (or whatever you have set up in your settings).

It basically allows testing of spark for wheel-decoder users without simulating a wheel.

I cut my ignition input wire from the stim and wired a cas straight in, then put the power drill on the cas... thats one way to test.. lol.

hrmm, on a 2.2 board, the only thing it comes with is coil-negative input.

If that's not working with the stim, then there's probably something wrong with the way that circuit was built.

I'd suggest going through that circuit and checking it against the instructions on www.megasquirt.info for the 2.2 board.

So you're saying you used the wrong type of pot on the stim then?

I don't know for sure what it'd do, but if you're using the wrong pot I wouldn't expect it to work right.
