The MS1-based firmwares are in 100 RPM increments in the VE and spark tables.

The MS2-based firmwares are done in 1 RPM increments.

With MS1 the tuning table is 8x8 or 12x12. MS2 is 12x12 or 16x16. Each row/column is configurable, which is what Ken referred to. In other words, you could have rpm increments of 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2500, 3500, 3800... and so forth. This flexibility allows the tuner to add precision where needed. All this good stuff is covered in detail here:

To add to what Renns said, with ms1, you could set the bins up to the 100's point, so values like 2500, 3500, 4500, etc...

With ms2, you can set them to 1 RPM increments, so 2542, 3535, 4567, etc.. It doesn't really make much difference though.

Internally, the ms1 code can only change the amount of fuel every 100 rpms (even with interpolation) but ms2 can theoretically change it with an RPM change of only 1 RPM.
