Hi All,

It was posted that the msns-extra firmware 029t is the latest firm ware up grade. What are the differences from 029Q? Also when I ran it and went to the configurator to activate it I only see that there is a 029s has been added. Is this correct or am I doing some thing wrong? I always play with this stuff on my home computer then go to my lap top if it seems to work out OK. From my lap to I connect to the V3 board MS1 chip and flash the firm wear on to it and change the programs around. Just so you know I have very weak computer skills and most of what I read is foreign to me. But I have come a long ways in the past 10 months.

I normally check differences by opening the msnsextra.asm (sp?) that is included with the zip. This is the actual source code of the firmware. At the top of the file it has comments listed by revision, telling what was changed, fixed, etc... Great work developers!!

There's almost always a post on the msextra.com forums when a new code is released advising what was fixed.

 

This is correct. I just finished being confused by the very same thing. 029s is 029Q, if you click on the 029s file in MS config, on the right hand side all of the details for are displayed, and it says it is revision q. It must have been mislabled.

 

If the data format in the flash has not changed, then the version reported to megatune won't change.

So 029t has the 029s data format, but has other changes that do not affect the data format.
