MSII friendly Dyno to tune? Or someone willing to help around mid-michigan area??
Hi all, I bought a S5 FC about a month ago and now that its finally warmer out im starting to drive it a bit more, it is run on MSII. I was wondering if anyone knew of a MSII friendly dyno that I can get it tuned at or if somebody here in mid-michigan area knows enough about it to help me do it myself. The car runs and drives but has a few hickups here and there. If anyone can help I would be estatic because i would really love to leard how to do this myself!!!
Thanks, Anthony

I don't know if any of the dynos around here will do it; Xceedspeed.com has a list of the dynos in MI on their site and you can check.
Is your car NA or turbo? You could probably tune it yourself as long as you READ A LOT about engine tuning, and on rotarys specifically. In the MS manuals, there's a section devoted to tuning, plus plenty of threads on here. Look for ones about tuning rotary split and timing by BDC, or that BDC has posted in; he's done a lot of work on this and is quite knowledgeable (not that plenty of other members here arent).
Do you have a computer that you can connect to the MS in your car with? Not just a laptop, but with the MegaTune software and the correct *.ini file for your code variant. (basically, does megatune connect to your MS without giving errors)

The car is NA with what the prev owner called a mild street port. I dont know for sure yet if it will hook up correctly as I just downloaded the software last week and havent had time to try it yet. I downloaded Megatune, tunerstudio, and Megalog viewer, I think they came from a link provided on the forum.
Im going to try it out tomoro morning, and I will let you know if any errors come up. I mean the car runs ad drives as I have taken it to school ad work a few times, I just think its running uber rich. I have read quite a bit on the forums here but dont feel totally comfortable jumping into it head first haha.
Im in the pinckney area everyweekend if your willing to be that helpful person haha...

Hey guys, I know its been about a week but I had the Prev owner email me some info and logs. So I now know its MSII extra 2.1.0. He also attached a TS projest with the proper ini file. He told me to unzip it and put it into the TS directory. The problem is that it wont connect with my computer...
Yeah I also need a mid michigan megasquirt expert because my firmware/software/harware seem to be conflicting so the settings I burned dont seem be right for the ignition. it runs without the map plugged in (atmospheric) and thus having a vacuum leak (since map is unplugged) idling at a cool 900rpm steady but the ignition is still off a bit, everything checks out but the megasquirt itself and now fixing this is beyond my technical ability since I didn't build it. I'm about ready to sell it all off.
Um... probably not. The tough part is that I bought this car with the MS on it and didnt build it myself. So now I am trying to hook it up to a totally diff computer. I dont know if thats what is making this sooo difficult but jeese it is kinda frustrating ya know!?!?!?
Do you have a real serial port or a USB adapter? Do you know what COM # was assigned to it? If so, in TS, with the MS connected and turned on, go to Communications | Settings, select the proper COM port, make sure Baud Rate is 115200, and click Test Port.
BTW, in my experience a USB adapter will get a different COM # for each differnt USB jack it is plugged into.
