MS NOOB questions

I am interested in buying one of the v2.2 units off of ebay today. I have read through some of the info here and would like to know if this board is fully assembled already what will I have to do to make this work with an S4 TII. I will give you guys the link to the one I want to buy to see if you could help me. I would much appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

lowkee33,

I'll stick to my recommendation: Build it yourself, or buy something else. MS is a highly capable product, but requires a high level of technical expertise on the part of the user. Buying a pre-built unit is a recipe for frustration unless you have a tech expert in the wings waiting to do the mods, installation, and tuning for you.

Not trying to be negative here, but just giving you the straight goods. You'd have to disassemble and modify that V2.2 board fairly extensively to get the full fuel and spark capability, so you may as well built it yourself anyways. You'll learn a tremendous amount just during the planning and build phase. For the mods required, read through Muy's FAQ.

Its not too difficult. Once you order a kit diyautotune.com is a good source. Just read Muy's FAQ and follow the step by step mods to make it rotary friendly. Also check on msefi.com and read the megamanual. Dont jump in too far ahead of yourself and get overwhelmed. Just get the kit and build it according to the megamanual. Reading ahead without the kit wont help much. Order the additonal parts in the FAQ to make it work and solder them in. And as you go feel free to ask questions..weve all been down this road. Just keep in mind this isnt as easy as most people think. It takes a lot of patience. Even if your familliar with ckt boards you will learn a lot building and getting it to work. Shawn
