ms ecu died

I was driving and came to a light. Before car came to idle it shut off. Look offer at laptop and all gauge where off. No connection to laptop. I check for power to ms and check all connection. Nothing car was dead. Removed ecu and hooked it up to stim. Nothing completly dead. When it hooked up in car. the led stay on. That is the only sign off life. I have v2.2 with error card running dual lm for timing with launch control in use. I have ms relay board also. I have ordered a new ms 2.2 So I don't have to hurry and screw with the old one. But I still want to fix and have a spare one.

I have no idea where to start looking for problem I am going to read the manuel when I find it. Has anybody else had this problem I heard something about a crystal something going bad. I don't know if that is my problem but any tips would be great.

You'll probably have better luck at the MSefi forum with general build or hardware failure questions.

I tried to reboot and can't get it to respond. I even tried hyperterminal. I must have shorted something. I am running mixed injectors. But I don't think that would have fried the whole thing. I have 1600cc low with factory resistor in and 550 high.

yes resistor are inline. The ecu work great for the last year. I had it tuned faily well. I have S4 halfbridge with t04b turbo. I think it would have post good number on a dyno if I could find one. But it just stoped working for no reason. I am confused what happened to it. I don't know if vibration finally got to it. I have very rough suspension.

Try reflashing the firmware on the chip. I had a similar problem as you, car just up and died, with only my LEDs as sign of life. I reflashed then reloaded my .msq an so far so good. The next step after tring that is to replace the CPU with a new or known good one and try to reflash.
Just my $0.02 worth.
Good luck with it :-)

Got it back up and running. I had to replace the processor. I don't know what cause it to stop but I put a new one reloaded the code and it worked. I order a couple of spare one just in case.
