Megasquirt i have a question about s5
i have a question about s5
what is the main reason as to why there is not a plug and play unit for s5?
is the electronic oil metering pump one of the problems
i personaly pefer to install one on a s5 because of the tps on the s5
has more range than a s4

Yeah, I'm thinking about using the MS2 for the built-in stepper motor controller it has... then I could use that for the OMP...
I could probably build and test plug 'n play unit *now* but people would have to premix. That was the plan at least until I'm finished writing the code for the MS2.
If I control the OMP on the MS2, there won't be enough spare outputs for some other things however... such as FPR solenoid, AUX and VDI (NA). It'd work fine for the T2 guys though...

Sounds great, I cant wait till the new code comes out.
I was thinking of building a standalone controller for the omp, I dont know... mayabe
rpm based or for s5 tps, it would be great if it was builtin the ecu. for now ill try something.
I dint know u guys created the codes. im still wondering how they got all those functions out of a single procesor.
By the way they never have the extra card on stock, is there any way i could build one?

You could grab a perfboard from radio shack and build one yourself... I also have a few I'd be willing to part with... mine are partially populated as they were originally going to go into plug-n-play units... but as I've now designed my own daughtercard for that purpose, I don't need them anymore.
I'd have to go look at what I paid for the components on the board before giving it up though... need to figure out how much to sell it for by itself.

If I gathered right ,this chap has designed a standalone stepper motor controller to run a 4-wire stepper like the GM IAC stepper valves for example.I'm not sure what the OMP steppers differ by compared to IAC stepper valves, but this may well be easily adapted without having to "re-invent the wheel" so to speak.

yes I know of that, however there is not any more room for new code in msns-extra. It is full. I would have to go and make a rotary-specific version of it by removing several other features to make room for new rotary features.
Instead of doing this, I'm going to work on ms2/extra, and those who want to run ms1 with msns-extra on an S5 can premix. My ignition code is much more accurate in ms2/extra (and I just finished testing wasted-spark to 17000 rpms without problems). Next I need to test things like V8 wasted spark, 4 cyl COP, and distributor mode... Once I've done that, rotary is next.
If I had a stock S5 to experiment on, then I'd gladly start trying to get msns-extra to work with that stepper motor controller... but so far I have no stock S5. Tofuball's S5 no longer has the OMP, nor does it have the stock harness.

No. We still don't have an S5 to test on. We may need to find someone in the rx7 community who doesn't mind lending us his/her stock S5 for a while.
Keep in mind that anything we release in the near-term is not going to support the OMP.
