Highest horespower Megasquirted?

Who has the highest powered megasquirted rotary engine? What HP?

How long have you been using megasquirt with the rotary engine?

Is megasquirt really reliable in rotary engines?

Im already planning to megasquirt my Rx-7

I've had one on my car since 2008 and have put maybe 70-80,000 miles on it.

I am one of the firmware writers. The first car I wrote code for in 2005 was a 2nd gen rx7. I have made sure the rotary is well-supported since.

I have a 500hp Grand National a few feet from me right now, with an MS3 Pro that we installed.

This is an extremely mild, daily driver car, nothing crazy

Best guess is my 13B makes about half that, but it's also nonturbo.

Was at a dyno session at DIYAutoTune while a Supra was being tuned. I think the final number was something like 1200RWHP on E85.

Found a video:

Figured I'd bump this thread since I just dyno'd my car.
I made 539whp and 406wtq @ 25.5psi with MS3X

Brief overview:
  • Streetported S5 TII block
  • Borg Warner EFR 9180 IWG w/ Turblown Cast IWG manifold
  • 4" Downpipe and 3" Racing Beat dual exhaust w/ 60mm cutout open
  • Pump gas and water meth (completely controlled by the MS3X mainboard drivers).
  • Water-2-air intercool
er

I'm not a very good tuner and wouldn't recommend you just throw my map on your car. I will tell you that at 26psi, I was at 8* at peak torque and 10* at redline. I tried as much as 16 and as little as 4 and 8/10 seemed to be where made the largest gains. Anything more saw diminishing returns. Adding a couple degrees after peak torque helped add a few hp where the engine was less stressed.
