Megasquirt :D Tuning Advice Please. Timing map inside!
Here is my .msq for my `86 13b NA Stock using a modded CAS. I don`t seem to be able to export the spark table without excel severely altering the table settings. My car was running and driving okay on this although it was still rich. The spark tables I entered by hand from settings that were originaly in the Megasquirt FAQ.
Use my .msq at your own risk. I assume no responsibility for your engine.
BTW how do you take a screen shot and post it. I can`t for the life of me figure that out. Boy do I feel dumb now

All N/A RX-7 ignition timing is the same. I operate with a 13B motor and run the same timing chart as a peripheral port three rotor engine that produces 395 HP at the rear wheels. My 13B is a street port and I use the two teeth method on my CAS (180 RWHP).
For each RPM range I use the same setting from 20 KPA to 100 KPA.
1000 15 DEG
2500 17 DEG
3500 18 DEG
4000 18 DEG
4500 23 DEG
5000 23 DEG
5500 to 9000 RPM 24 DEG
This timing was also confirmed off of #1 plug using a timing light which matched to my computer with Mega Squirt mounted in my race car. As I run on the track I data log each practice, qualifying session and race, it works fine.
Also you should know you can run up to 26 DEG. But there are absolutely no benefits in power gains after 24 DEG. You only run the risk of popping an apex seal. I know this to be a fact. I received this information from a person that has raced 10A, 12A, 13B, 20B N/A engines from the time they first came in to production. Also the 4 rotor race engines that was used in Mazda race cars limit was 24 DEG. You can go to 26 but no gains.
I have tuned this way from day one and have not changed any reason to.
Have Fun

Alt and Printscrn saves the image of the open window to the clipboard, CTRL+V in paint pastes it, ie you can paste it in paint and save it to a compressed format.
The GIF format is suited plain coloured graphics such as these (jpg would be a stupid choice)
Another thing to note is that from your timing map your data points are poorly placed. theres about 50 points in the map that hold no information (considering the information theory).
The guys that run 15BTDC at 1000 and 24BTDC at xrpm are just trying to mimic the stock distributor with VACUUM advance disconnected, which in my opinion is also a waste of having ECU controlled spark!
I know for a fact that 15BTDC is not suited to having a smooth idling rotary engine, 0 makes it run much better!

Okay, I don`t think I understand what you mean when you say "theres about 50 points in the map that hold no information".
I THINK I copied the spark map from the FAQ that were up back in May this year.

Where can we find the "redone" spark map? It does not seem to be in the FAQ.
Can you give everyone some idea of where the spark map should be set?
Congrats on the 2000 + post count
