Megasquirt Cant connect to LC-1
Cant connect to LC-1
I had just gotten one of the innovate G3 WB AFR gauges and was trying to hook it up and get the innovate LC-1's settings right, but I couldnt connect to it. I tried restarting it, restarting my computer, trying with the car on, off, anything i could think of. I even re-installed the logworks package (innovate's software), but to no avail. I'm trying to connect thru a USB-to-serial adapter, and have done it before with the same one (the one for sale at diyautotune.com) and same computer. I could connect to the MS at any time while doing this, so i dont think it was a problem with my computer or the adapter. Any suggestions or ideas that could help?
yea, i had the terminator in the IN plug and the serial cable in the OUT. I dont see an error, and it still works correctly and reads correctly to the megasquirt.
yea, i am trying to use LMconfig to set output 2 to work with a gauge I just got. I was able to configure it before for a different gauge and the MS, but the gauge itself was broken. Now its just not working in general.

I tried both ways, as well as restarting the computer with the car on, off, just accessories on etc, as well as connecting the serial adapter to different USB ports and turning the car on and off with the computer on, all with the gauge connected half the time, and not connected the other half. The gauge doesnt give any feedback to the controller so it shouldnt matter, but who knows.
um might be a silly thing for me to say
I power my LC-1 off the fuel pump relay.
So unless the engine is cranking or running the LC-1 gets no power.
Have you tried having the car running and then connecting?
You can test that the comm1 port you are mapping the usb-serial converter is working by changing between ms and the innovate.
I find that I need to have the serial cable and the terminator in the LC-1 digital connections, then start the car, then program it.
To get megatune to display AFRs again I need to kill car, remove terminator and serial cable from LC-1 and then start car again and plug in MS

Mine is powered off of the main relay (same one as MS), and I can tell when its on by the LED. It and the calibrate button are mounted in the ash tray. I've tried it with the car running vs not, and im pretty sure i've started the LC-1 with the terminator and serial plugs in, while connected to my laptop.
The USB-to-serial adapter has been working fine, i've been checking it with the megasquirt periodically and can always connect without a problem

Mine just worked fine right out of the box
Found the problem... not to say that I fixed it. The LC-1's wires decided to become friends with the driveshaft.
