Megasquirt ***Video of my MS TII***
***Video of my MS TII***
Does anyone have a TII 7 that is actually running like a champ? It seems to me that a lot of Turbo are having issues here. So if you do have one running right. Please post a video on the track or on the street. I’m just curious.
T2GTUS's car runs really well. I'll be tuning on on ms2/extra pretty soon too.
I can assure you that the problems that people are having have nothing to do with the fact that they're turbo, or even with the MS... most of the time they're just installation and tuning issues.

Well I'm steps away from getting mine to run. If you like torture just installs a MS. I just hope I don’t end up like everyone else that trashes it at the end and go with the more expensive EMS. I still want to see videos and see what they can do on the track. At least like that I can show all of my Mega WHO! Buddies these things work. So don’t be shy and post up. Hopefully I can get mine started up today and then I will have to see what other issues I will encounter. I will fight with this contraption to the very end and hope to share some nice footage with you guys. Oh yeah Thanks for the hope Ken. lol
I honestly don't see what's so difficult. I've had no trouble whatsoever...
Most of the people who give up and move on also give up on installing themselves, and have someone else do it.
I think most of the problems people have with MS are problems they'd have with any other EMS, because you have to wire it yourself, and there are a lot of variables that can be missed, or gotten wrong that are hard to track down later.

here is my car at an autocross running ms I could not keep the intercooler plumbing together but car runs good. I did break apex seal this event but It was not ms related.

I also got new engine fired up today so I will try to get more video. My car is HB s4 with gt45 turbo 550/1600cc injector I am having trouble staging injector. Just because the are so different in size.
To help with staging, it's best to:
1) stage just as you're getting on boost... 100-110 kPa
2) richen up the staging point significantly
The easiest way to do this is to just stage on RPM, then in your VE table, put a couple of RPM bins close to the staging point, and richen those two bins up the whole way through the table.
The gradual staging code can also help here.

U might want to search for some msq's and look at other people's setting USE THIS JUST TO GET AN IDEA , u still have to tune it you're self, make sure you're cas wire's are shielded! The software settings are some what confusing, cause the ms is so versatile and made to work with just about every thing witch is good and bad lol, but once u have it down it is all water under the bridge
. Make sure you're lc-1 is reading what ms is seeing u may run into ground offset issues. My lm-1's (data logger) wbo2 signal would bounce (it would not give a steady true reading) with the engine off when the power and ground were hooked to the car but with it hook to a external battery it would be solid as a rock, innovative stated that the lc-1 should not have this problem, but check it any ways!! I have not had time to install/check my lc-1 yet! Make sure you read up on turbo rotary timing, run stock like split under boost and conservative advance number's at first them play with them later. Once u get all that down mega log viewer makes tunning the fuel map a snap.

I have the LC-1 all wired up and it works perfect. All readings are fine. I just have to redo the extra board and disassemble the proto area. I think I did something wrong so since I have the daughter board. I'm just going to assemble the vr 2 side and see if that works for me.
I am running stock cas with extra error board. I got the newest version of the board. It is a better design then the last. I run both vr sensor on the board since I have 2.2 ms. Yeah I know the end of the vid sucks cause I had to finish the run with no boost.

I hammer rolled the end of the pipe at the event and it still blew off. I like the glue idea I might try that. Most of my problem is not having a big enough blow off valve. I gonna add another one maybe two. In the video you can hear the compressor surge.
mine still runs like poo!
Still won't start, or idle, or drive, or maintain consistant WOT AFR's.....
maybe one day when I have time to actually work on it, I'll fix the issues. :P
I still have faith that the MS can work (despite having somewhat crude adjustment abilities)... I just wish I had more time to deal with my car's issues.

.to keep the I/C pipes on, you need a few things working together to ensure sucess.
1: make sure the pipe ends are all rolled. If they aren't you can bend them up slightly with a pair of pliers and that will work (though not as well).
2: Hairspray works wonders. It "glues" the coupler to the pipe.
3: T-bolt clamps are a necessity. They can be found at hydraulic suppliers and some performance shops. They use a nut/bolt assembly to prevent leaks and some of the quality ones can be tightened so tight that they'll crush the coupler. My Cement mixer is turbocharged at about 32-35PSI depending on weather, it has 3.5" intercooler piping and t-bolt clamps, and they have never blown off.

What's crude about the adjustment abilities? I've never had any trouble getting an engine to run well.
Putting it on a load-holding dyno, and load tuning usually helps a lot, but that said, I've never had to do that.

I use my TII vert as my DD, and it is running well. The only problem I have right now is that the turbine has an oil leak that gets pretty bad in boost, so I try to stay out of it. But when i give in... damn is it fun. Im still working on tuning the high-load, high-rpm bits of it, and the warmup enrichments, but it works well
blah blah blah. Is anyone going to post a MS'ed track car? My 7 is coming along. But I still have some major issues I have to work on. If wanted a Daily driver I would had let the stock ECU in it. The reason I went with an EMS is to get the best performance out of it and more power.
lol apparently you've put these things on like a thousand time.

yea, i think muy's response is kind of funny... considering he helps to write the code and develop the MS, and has done countless installs. For the first-timer, it can be pretty intense, but you'll learn the workings of your car inside-out in the process.
I intend on doing some auto-x after a little more work and tuning on the 'vert, I just want to do a couple more things and make sure that the tuning is solid before doing so. When that happens, you'll have some track vids

If you can't find someone to bead the pipe, there is another option....
Create a bead with a cheap-*** welder. Then file it down a little to even out the weld. We did this on a TII and it worked fantastic. Whats a little extra welding on your pipes, anyway?
