You know that guy...or girl

That just decides that they have the fastest V6 or anything of that nature and wants to put your car to the test. Yeah those people...I get the biggest kick out of these kinds of people. For instance I'll take both genders and give you all an example.
Incident #1 06 black v6 mustang with a fairly decent looking girl probably in her mid twenties flew by me. She gets held up at a light and so i roll to a stop next to her, little did I know she had a friend with her. The girl in the passanger seat is pointing and laughing at the FD. Not cool, but I let it slide, then the mother of all screw ups that she decides to do is revving the engine...big mistake. I look over at the giggling duo and smile. Light turns green they plant it. I sit for a sec and let them get ahead about 2 cars or so seeing as there was no traffic coming up behind me, then nail it in the middle of town. I grabbed 3rd as soon as i came up to the window and brraaaaaaaappp pshhhhhh. With a look of absolute terror on each of their faces my day was complete.
Incident #2 was a cadillac packed with thugged out homies, this wasn't as funny as the mustang but the looks from there faces as the bov went off was priceless. They decided to follow me and I mean follow. I didn't like where this was going so I jammed a gear got the hell out of dodge.

Anyways I was just thinking about that and wanted to hear some other stories others have experienced.

road rage kills? lol

i was driving my daily civic lx 5speed with 3 of my friends. this stupid 20ish something bitch in a base model lancer would not stop tailgaiting me. for some reason my temper got the better of me.

i decided to chill in the left lane and pace the car in the middle so she couldn't pass. after a minute of that she cuts 2 lanes to the right and floors it in an attempt to pass. so i put it in 2nd gear up around 5000rpms and give her 90whp or 1.7 liter fury. my poor car went nowhere, but it was enough. she got caught in middle lane traffic before she could complete the pass as i blew by at a scorching 65mph or so. my buddy reported she had a look of shock / horror look on her face.

later that night i laid a sacrifice at the altar of nike
yes i know this has nothing to do with v6's but i'm bored in class

When big trucks pass me because I drive the speed limit on public roads, if I have nobody in front of me I downshift and go WOT until they pop back behind me. The look on soccer mom's and raging office workers is priceless.

Note: Don't do this when oncoming traffic is coming, it's not cool to indirectly kill people on purpose.

That pisses me off so much. I don't really speed, so I just sit at at least the speed limit, but usually 5-10 over. I can not stand it at all when people sit an inch away from your bumper when you are going 10 over the speed limit. ******* nj has the worst drivers.

This I do not understand. If I am going faster than traffic I plan my routes around the slower cars in front of me far ahead of time. Hell, I even look ahead of them and try to gauge their speed in relation to the cars ahead of them to see if the gap is changing. That way I can just slip through traffic without slowing down. I do not understand why some people drive right up to someones bumper, slow down, then decide to pass. I think its part of the racing instinct that some of us have, slipping through traffic in a well planned manner is like finding the right lines on the race course.

I've been in a car where the driver would drive up on other peoples bumpers and do this sorta crap. Its retarded. I just sit there thinking, "ok the right lane is empty, they will get over to pass any second now........ any second.... that car is getting closer, closer, closer...........um are we gonna pass?" Then we get within 20 yards or so and start to slow down but continue to get closer and closer, until our speeds are matched and we are about 10-15 feet behind the car ahead. Then our driver signaled got over and accelerated to pass.

Totally uncalled for. Had I been driving I'd have changed lanes 50-100 yards back and cruised past the other car without ever slowing down.

I used to take the parkway to get to school. **** that. I'm so glad I don't have to drive that route anymore, I'd kill someone. That and all the ******* north jersey/new yorkers.

Would you like to tell us all why you think its fun to play with vehicles weighing on average 80 000 pounds, that cant stop nearly as fast as you. That's a smart way to **** off someone with one hell of a weapon, and/or get someone, maybe you killed in the process. Truckers deal with enough ******** that can't drive every day, you don't need to add to that, if he's going faster than you, leave it alone and let him go, your more likely to keep your car in one piece, because one day you might catch the trucker that doesn't mind running people off the road. And yes I'm a trucker, I'm also only 22, so I do like driving hard and fast as well. He's going faster than you, he will get the ticket. Don't drive like a dick just to **** off people. Act like you deserve your license and you'll be all the better for it.

LOL, I hate stupid drivers with a passion... but my girlfriend's dad is one. I've had to ride with him a few times... he gets less than a foot away from people, jerks around them at about 80mph+ (mind you, this is all in a '98 Dodge Durango 4x4), and just doesn't understand why so many people get pissed at him. Granted, he has driven the Nurburgring NUMEROUS times, but thats no reason to act like a jackass in traffic.

WOAH. You are thinking wayyy too big of a truck.

Let me restate:

I live on a 35 mph road. Double bar lanes, no passing. I also live adjacent to one of the richest towns in my state (There's 2 Ford GTs, 5 Ferraris, and a Track-Only Ferrari). The friggin moma's boys around here with their pimped out Escalades and Explorers (The kind of truck I was talking about. These weigh more around 5,000 or 6,000 lbs) like to pass people on my road. I speed up so they can't. It's very curvy so if they keep going they have a death wish. If there is even a hint of danger to either party I let them go by. I just like to **** off wiggers with their pimped out vans filled with their friends.

If a mack truck ever passed me on a road, I'd kill myself immediately. I must be 90 years old.

I'm about a couple hours away I think. Our group (www.rrdi.org) goes to VIR quite a bit, although I haven't been many places with them since my FD went down in March. But when I get back from the desert around Feb with the deployment money, I should have her back up and running and be back at VIR in short order, haha. How far away from the NC line are you?

Have you ever talked to Johny zoom? He lives in VA, right outside of VIR, and he comes to our meets sometimes. He's a good friend of mine.

LOL Priceless.

That's the problem with so many people out there is they lack that depth perception or spatial ability. They can't tell when a car is going slower or faster. Several times on my way to work/school I will be in one lane doing 3-5 mph on city roads and 5-8 over on the highway, and someone will come flying up on me, only to shift to the lane over that has a slower driver that I am quickly(slowly in their books apperantly) passing.

Stupid people's patience is like the attention span of a 3-5 yr old. They can't wait those additional 10 seconds to get past someone. Ehhh whatever I have started taking a longer way to work so I don't have to deal with the hassles with freeway traffic.

You are about 25% of the population who drive like you do. You wanna deal with alot of ******* drivers, drive an 18 wheeler. People have NO respect for you in an 80,000 pound rig that takes between 450-460ft to stop at 55mph.

I think for somebody to acquire a license, they should watch a 5 minute video on how hard it is to stop a 18 wheeler in an emergency situation. And why you should yield to the warning signs on the back of the trailer that says "CAUTION: MAKES WIDE RIGHT TURNS".

Bunch of idiots out there.

first one made me laugh hard lol

second one reminded me of the topgear and rednecks episode where they went to alabama.

anyways, I had one encounter with a 3rd gen eclipse (gs edition at that). 4 girls in the car pulled up beside me and told me that they loved my ugly piece of ****. They all started to laugh some and then they revved the engine...needless to say it was kind of funny to me. well they took off and got about a car to a car and a half on me. pulled even with them at the end of 2nd. when I shifted to third I stayed there for a second and waved bye to them and flew past them like they were standing still. I ran into them later that day at outback and they said they loved my car now and wanted me to take them for rides in it. Needless to say it wound up a good day

That's cool, I might see you someday then. Our group is going to VIR for GT Live Oct 6-7, you gonna be there? You should hook up with them if you are. I think some of them are going this weekend too, but I haven't figured out yet what's going on up there this weekend. Bring your friend with the 8 too. We have all kinds of 8s in our group. Actually we have a Porsche, TA and some other non-rotaries in our group too, to include an LS1/FD, haha. And of course whatever people are driving when they're rotaries are down, haha.

LOL awesome man. That's cutting it close though because Oct. 4 I'm going up to PF for Ray to help me out with my car. If everything works out I should be all tuned up by then (ran into a problem not to long ago with the car...fell free to check it out, its always good to have a second opinion.)

Sorry bro, can't check Myspace on government computers. I'll check it out in a couple weeks or so when I get my laptop, haha. So are you saying you'll be able to make it to GT Live? I'll let them know to look for you if that's so, and if that's cool with you. So what happened with the car?

It would be really cool to go man, but it all depends on what kind of verdict Ray gives us. I've been noticing this noise for a few weeks now and its almost like sounds like a random popcorn maker with metal inside of it. So I took off the MP and cat left the DP on and fired her up to see if it might have been a broke weld and just let the exhaust blow it out...that was a not go. So I'm still stuck with the noise. Next was the turbo inlet piping and all the other good stuff off to get to the turbos for play...and yeah we got some play in the turbos. Well I think what the problem was some crossed up vacuum lines and boost spike that caused them to flop (thats just my analysis haven't a second opinion). Next I had Chris from Rx7.com send me a proper vacuum setup and now we are waiting on the turbos. I want to do a compression test too from Ray. We will see what happens next...I pray that nothing has gone up internally. I swear I will prolly cry if we run into something of that nature lmfao.

Then we get within 20 yards or so and start to slow down but continue to get closer and closer, until our speeds are matched and we are about 10-15 feet behind the car ahead. Then our driver signaled got over and accelerated to pass.

Totally uncalled for. Had I been driving I'd have changed lanes 50-100 yards back and cruised past the other car without ever slowing down.

LOL Priceless.
Sometimes I will get close but not tailgate a slower car in front of me, before I pass. The reason is I don't believe in passing on the right, it makes for too many near misses. I wish people would understand that on a three lane highway, each lane has a different purpose, but this will never happen. There are signs that even state this outright. (At least by me.) The right lane is the slow vehicle lane. the middle lane is the travel lane. The left lane is the passing lane. If there are no cars in front of you, you should not be in the left lane. If there are cars stuck behind you, you should not be in the left lane. I feel that passing on the right leads to near misses that shouldn't have to happen. I know, when I'm passing someone, and I look to cut back to the middle lane after I finish my pass, I don't appreciate the hotshot weaving, passing on the right and nearly clipping me when he cuts back to the middle without looking.

On a two lane highway, there's just a passing lane and a travel lane. You should not be in the passing lane if you don't have to, 1, it causes people behind you to have to slow up, and 2. If there's no one in front of you, why don't you just cut over? It's not like anyone's impeding your progress.

On a multi-lane highway, anything in the middle is travel, with the rightmost and left most lanes being the same as before.
