Weird race(FC n/a vs Scion TC)vid. too

I walways hear everyone asking about what would be the outcome of an N/A Fc vs a Scion TC, well here it is. Its kind of a weird race. I usually dont street race but this guy would not stop calling me out.

60-100mph...I pull all the way to 120 then he starts pulling at 120 and then he lets go. Still dont know why he let go but my guess is he governed out. I dont know see for yourself. Dont mind the guy going OMG!! he wanted me to loose so he was freaking out when the TC started pulling.

My mods: just an HKS exhaust, no main cat and electric fan.
TC mods: headers traight piped to Greddy evo exhaust and cold air intake(thats all I know he had)

Good kill? I can't watch the video at work for some reason.

I raced my buddy's bone stock 08 TC with my DD bone stock 06 Civic LX (battle of the daily drivers) and he beat my time by about a tenth of second.

My buddy was hitting mid or low 10s in the 1/8 mile. Yeah, I know that's sad.

I wouldn't be surprised if the TC had some kind of speed governor. My 93' Pontiac Grand AM GT had it at 115mph. And my Sr20 powered 240sx has it around 140(though my speedo isn't attached so i think it's a 5th gear governor)

When it hits, you know it. You lose all power and fuel until the speed drops

I dont consider it a kill but I do think it was kind of weird how first he pulled so hard at that speed and then he lets go before passing me. I do have to add that I hit around 115mph on 3rd then when I shifted to 4th thats when he started passing me at 120. And yes it did take us like 5min to get to 120..jeje

Those TCs only have like 125hp right? I can't imagine them having that great of a top end past 115mph. I remember my old 95' 240sx I took to 135 once(took like an hour I swear). I had intake and exhaust, and even with the throttle buried to the floor, it took FOREVER.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't N/A FC's known for having more top end, than low end? Never had one, just remembeing what I had 'heard'.

Well my FC is pretty much stock, so I would have topped out at around 135. And yeah thats why I was so surprised but I guess an intake, headers and exhaust make a big difference on these cars(tc).

I was at a dyno and saw a tc(owned but the pres of the socal miata club) with a cat back pull 104 HP to the wheels. He gained 3 hp from his base, for around a grand. woo ******* who.

too bad it is wrong wheel drive. I would rather have a boosted honda fit if I had to roll WWD. They are fun cars for a subcompact.

scion tc's are slow, even with a bigger engine the corolla xrs are smoking them, just telling you bro, try finding one of those corollas xrs and do a pull with it, it'll be a fun pull if he has at least a cat-back. good kill.

That was funny my girlfriend has a Tc, they are really nice cars. She gave me a run for my money when my SA22 was stock. She can't keep up with it now that its modded. Actually she will smoke me since my car isn't run ning.

sr's have a fuel cut at 155 mph, (not that u can be really sure since the speedo goes up to like 115) and stock it stops u at 117 mph
