That's what this forum is about, apparently. Having to defend every comment you make about something being remotely as quick as an rx7 even though it weighs more.

its n sti, im not saying just an rx7. any rwd/fwd car with the same hp as an awd car will always win a roll race. bottom line, im just stating that if his rx7 really had 400whp at 15psi he should have killed "that" sti at 12psi. i have seen a 440whp srt4 beat a 515awhp sti by 2 cars, the sti is just not a highway runner.

btw if there is any defense going on here its for the sti for whatever reason.

Ya know thats the stupidest comment ive heard all day."any rwd/fwd car with the same hp as an awd car will always win a roll race. bottom line," the newer sti's have less drivetrain loss than earlier models what are you thinkin? this aint no gsx eclipse buddie! they also have short gears and look it has 370+ lb ft tq.

And then you go saying that a FWD car with the same power will out run it on a roll...lol what about a 20mph roll, you think a FWD car with that much power is going to have traction over four powered wheels and out run it.

On top of that dude had a big turbo that lag's while the sti has a small one which spooled instantly. why dont you just stop posting garbage. you dont make sense and your making your self sound stupid.

Unfortunatelly people here tend to doubt and make an issue about every little detail.

That's how most threads end here

oviously i am dealing with a bunch of fools. i dont have time for this. if you think an awd has little to no drivetrain loss then you need some serious schooling. why dont you take some time to educate yourself.

and just to prove my point once and for all pick up a road&track or motortrend before you post and talk sh**.

997 carrera s 355hp (2wd) 0-60 3.9 , 0-100 9.6 , 1/4 12.3@114.8
997 carrera 4s 355hp (4wd) 0-60 4.1 , 0-100 10.5, 1/4 12.6@110.2

wrx sti 300hp (4wd) 0-60 4.9 , 0-100 12.6, 1/4 13.3@103.0
cayman s 295hp (2wd) 0-60 4.9 , 0-100 12.2, 1/4 13.4@105.3

03 srt4 215hp (2wd) 0-60 5.8 , 1/4 14.8 @99.5
03 wrx 227hp (4wd) 0-60 5.6 , 1/4 14.4 @94.7
06 wrx 230hp (4wd) 0-60 5.6 , 1/4 14.2 @94.2

now lets look at all the 1/4 trap speeds. i see a sequence do you? i think that would explain a roll race from xx to xxx.

It's funny how people get blinded by their affection of what they drive. Kind of like mom only seeing her children as best. Many many factors play into a race. More than just numbers. Many more. Who cares. Just line up and go already. Post a kill or a loss. Quit dragging these idiotic million post threads. This place should have more regulated rules. This section used to be a decent place to check out not very long ago. G

wow even with proof right in front of your eyes..... i dont care if its magazine racing or not facts are facts. i think the carrera s and c4s explain my point enough. i could care less what the rest of you think.

btw. my argument this whole time has been, 2wd vs 4wd.

Dude, you're still looking at numbers. Look at reality. The race happened, it was a damn good race and yet, you're arguing something that you just cant explain.

also.

Proof is not quoting magazine numbers. Proof is what just happened - an actual race in real life. There's far too many variables to pluck numbers from mags and think that the trends they display are set in stone.

Anyone with real knowledge would not dispute that.

Then how do the "facts" explain the race? They can't because your "facts" are skewed. Far too many variables to claim absolutes in anything in life - let alone in racing.

like i said already im not talking about this race. im explaining 2wd to 4wd in general.

so classicauto, you are basicly telling me that if i had a carrera s and you had a carrera 4s both with 355hp we would be dead even? and since the magazines doesnt cut it because its not "real" racing. here is a real street race, 03 wrx vs 02 srt4, both stock 30mph roll, the wrx pulled a car right away, by 80mph the srt was a half car ahead, by 110mph the srt was 1 1/2 car ahead. i saw it in person and they did it 3 times with the same outcome.

also what other variables are there other then, power to weight, power to drag, drivetrain loss. given both drivers are evenly skilled etc...

edit: forgot gearing but that is marginal

No. Not at all, why would you make that assumption from my post?

Sooo........? I don't understand what you're getting at here. This is an examples of hoow large a role variables play. Sure the 2WD won in THAT case under THOSE conditions. It wasn't the case with the race at hand.......er at least one of their runs.

Yes gearing is very marginal

How about tires? Lets just pick one item. We have several variables in that one item alone. Tires: Tire height, tire width, sidewall height, tread, compound, air pressure, temperature.

But serisouly, this is getting ridiculous. Just let it be........the outcome of the race was just that - an outcome. Don't go all up in arms just because the outcome doesn't match the idealist magazine numbers........let it goooooooo

Your wasting your breath. You will never get any supporting evidence or proof of what they are trying to say. They just tell you "you dont get it". Apparently to them it holds more merit than physics. Just look up the posts from its n sti and spoolin spec v. Trolling in these areas is there specialty.

Ok say two cars with the same tires, gears ratio's and power line up at a 20 mph roll one is awd the other is fwd they both have 300hp and 300lbft who's gonna excelerate first?

from your statement the fwd car would that is rediculous...even a rwd car would have a dificult time.
