streetrace video 12A turbo V.S nova and blown mustang big money race

its and oldy buy a goodie its been converted from a lod home video camera to vhs to digital so the quality is ****, sorry..
link

http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fusea...&videoid=22340

the first race is om my 12a turbo first gen V.S. my buddied 66 nova.. the nova has a built turbo 350 tranny, 9" rear end, cal tracks, and a built 400CI motor with a worked 850 holley and a 300 shot ..

the second race was not for fun ..the bet got up to $3,500.. he was a rotary guy turned v8 so we really wanted to dig in his pockets, and we did, lol
he had a 347 motor, motorsport block, vortec T trim blower, boost was unknown but it was rumored to be up there(i checked his motor before the race and the blower pulley was tiny while the motor pully was HUGE so i know it wasnt at 4 psi) lol. the mustang had all gt 40 intake goodies, good heads msd 7 box, some custom lemons headers, tremic tranny(tko) and a 9" out back..

enjoy
i have lots of streetrace footage but its all on vhs, what to do?

Holy crap, I've never seen a first gen dominate anywhere other than a junkyard. What size snail you have on there and at what psi?

thanks

back then it was a bridgeport 12a, t72 q trim blowing through a re-worked nikki carb @ 18 psi..along with a turbo 2 tranny and a mustang 8.8 i put together.. it dynoed at 540 rwhp

currently, the motor is the same but its got a 80mm turbo and a halltech(it made 730 rwhp but went slower).. i havnt ran it in a few years.. ive been doing suspension/ brake upgrades that were badly needed along with an automatic conversion.

thats bad *** man, i feel dumb for asking this but like you said the video wasn't that great. is that a sa or a fb.

when i saw 12a vs mustang it made my day.I finally get to see the race ive been wanting to see. me and my friend own a 1984 rs turbo capri, for those who don't know its a inline 4 turbo fox body car, 90% the same thing as a svo mustang the other 10% is body parts and no stock inter cooler.
where fully redoing the car custom v mount setup t4/t3 turbo ect ect. where hoping for at least 400 rwhp with the 8v sohc. where also building another custom ford 2.3 that we puller from a b2300(cant flame it did come from a mazda lol)with a volvo 16v dohc head which will make much much more power.

what turbo were you using when you were pushing 18psi. i would also like to know if a hybrid t3/t4 would be a good idea for a 12a? p.s. bad *** video that 7 sounds like it eats v8s for breakfast and it backs it up.

it was a full T4 turbo with a q trim turbine wheel and a 72mm compressor wheel

as far as using a t3-t4 turbo on a 12a, if you want to run low boost on a stock port motor its fine, otherwise a t3-t4 is a bit small..

if i wanted to run 7 to ten on a ported 12a. so would a t3-t4 spool quckly and have good boost pressure or should i just go with a t4. o and what is a "q trim turbine" what makes it different from a regular one im a turbo n00b.
