Now I know that there are some cool ones out there, but by far the most of them are just cocky ********! (by experience). Honestly some people.

Here is my kill:

I'm headed to my GF's house on sat evening. I pass this semi nice fixed up first generation mustang (cool old school muscle car). As soon as I passed him he guns it but there was a car in front of him. His car sounded modified.

I turn into a four lane road and I look in my rear view mirror and notice that he turns also. Now I'm sure he wants to play because he is gunning it. Typical mustang ricer flybye that 90% of them do around here. But I'm ready for his ***. There is nobody ahead of us.

I'm in second gear and I time it correctly for me to go WOT. So I do just that and at the right moment. He catches up real quick as I'm building boost and gaining velocity (remember he was already at WOT and coming before I even gassed it). We ended up dead even at the end of second gear (6.5k -7.5K ish RPMs). As soon as I switched to third I began to pull ahead. He got off the gas as soon I noticeably pulled away.

I get to a stop light which was a little less than 1/4 mile away from WHERE he stopped racing. In other words a good distance away. He finally gets to the light (he took his sweet time) and I'm getting ready to give him a thumbs up. It's always nice play . It's young kid I'd say 19 or so... The first thing he does is gives me the thumbs down!!! I'm just floored as in WTF!!! so I rolled my window down and here is the conv:


M: Mustang, FD: obviously me



M: That's all you got? you ain't got ****.

FD: really? it was enough to have you look at my tailights.

M: That was weak... I had to let off because my breakes are bad (complete bullshit the stoplight was really, really far way). Your **** is slow, that's all you got?

FD: ok. whatever... you never even got in front of me. and I left your *** behind. Even before you let off

M: Let's race for money..

FD: WTF??? I don't think so.

M: It's because you will know you will lose.

FD: Shiiit. No it's because:
1) I don't need the money
2) You don't have money for brakes so what makes you think you have money to pay me.

M: ignores me, and says pull over.

Now i'm just curious on what this *** wipe has to say. and now I'm thinking that this fool probably has N20 and wants to make a quick buck. We pull into a small parking lot.

M: So what's up let's race for money

FD: alright. My call: We will start at 150 MPH and take it from there (I know he does not have the gearing lol

M: Ignores the comment and says you don't want to race cuz you know you wil lose money.

FD: Not but what I just saw. I know you prolly are spraying...

M: again, ignores my comments

FD: yeah to bad you go back to slow once you run out of juice lol...

M: you don't want to run cuz you know you will lose

^^(WTF is this guy deaf, blind, and stupid)

FD: Ok fine I'll run you again for fun. Come on.

M: naah I only do it for money.

FD: whatever...

M: Give your number.

FD: yeah right!!! lol I ain't giving you ****.



Then I just drove away. Jeez the nerve of some people...

Two things: either he was really pissed that he lost and wanted to save face by saying he wanted to race for money (which made him look like more of an ***) Or he was trying to sandbag me since he prolly has N20 lol. But that's an easy fix just have a long race and wait till his **** runs out...Or do a top end run. Either way N2O=weak for the street.

I've had a couple of *** hole stang owners pull **** like that. Pisses me off, my car's no 400hp 7. It is faster then most of the bolt on stangs where i live, i think its the muscle car mentality.

 

I hate when some Mustang owners are **** like that. Espcially the owners of 65ish stangs. Its kinda gay imho.

i was playing with the new style, not the 05 brand new style, GT and he jumped the light so he was halfway across the intersection before i started. well i was pulling hard on him was just getting into the high rpms in 2nd and the jackass starts coming over into my lane, not merging, but just half his car... so i hit the brakes because i don't know what the hell is wrong with him and just stay behind him. at the next light he's got this cocky shitfaced grin on like he just smoked me. i just shook my head and turned left.

 

Yeah but I took that thing off. Since it was running too rich I was afraid of carbon build up. I really need a PFC though... Soon real soon, as soon as I stop spending money on other things.

You know I just don't get some people these days. Especially mustang drivers. One of my coworkers here has an 03 cobra and he gets challenged all the time by other Mustangs . Sometimes he even gets followed home and for consecutive days they drive by his house reving their engines . He asked me once if 7 driver's do the the same. I said "nah, dude we just pull up and give a nod to each other and go on our way". lol

I was in the FD when I caught up to a caravan of a 60s Stang and a 68-69 GTO. I gave em the thumbs up and they smiled and waved back. I stayed with em a few miles appreciating the metal they had. They didn't try anything and neither did I. I was just happy to be around some speed veterans

You should have had him pop the hood. And if it looked like just a crate motor I would have run him for a couple of bucks. Nothing crazy but enuff for gas. Its tuff to find out if someone is trying to scam you or they are just plain stupid.

 

ive seen 05 GTs run at the track and its not impressive. my friend has a 99 GT with basic bolt ons (best 13.5@ 101mph) who occassionally slips into the mustang owner mentality... he still concedes that my car is faster.

 

I used to have a 2nd gen rx7 which I sold and now i've got a 96' GT. What everyone says about 90% of mustang owners is true. I just got the mustang since I needed something a little quick that didn't have the bazillion problems that came along with an aftermarket turbo setup for a cheap price, so I got the stang. I enjoy the car, but I don't enjoy the type of attention it attracts. When I had the rx-7 i'd get occasional ricers trying to talk like they even knew it was a rotary, but mostly informed cool people who thought the car was really nice. With the mustang its all trashy people who want to race it and ask a bunch of dumb questions about it. One of the few plus sides to owning a mustang is the fact that every chick knows what it is, and even though they dont know jack **** about the car, they hear "GT" and they are like "wow that thing must be REALLY FAST!!!". Thats got its benifits although its not exactly true, lol

Oh well, everyone who knows me knows that I am nowhere near the typical mustang owner so its all good.

 

^Chicks around here don't really like domestics, especially Mustangs, because there are TONS of them. Most of them here like imports and I occasionally get the random hottie in a Civic or Eclipse that pulls up beside me and waves and toys around.

 

There are tons of mustangs and ricers around here, and most seem to think the ricers are gay. I dont really get how people hold such grudges against other people for having a different kind of car, its kinda gay. Like when people bash v8 swaps and all. Cars arent people, they are pieces of metal and plastic. I'm neither a domestic or import guy. I like imports a bit more, but if a good domestic came around that looked nice i'd have no problem buying it over an import.

 

My brother got into mustangs a little while ago and picked up a 05 GT just recently, thankfully he doesn't act like an ******* like some domestic owners I have seen. He respects imports alot as well as long as they aren't ricey.

If you haven't driven an '05 GT, I suggest you do. I'm heavily considering an '06 Cobra as my next car. They are great all around cars, have a great ride quality, look great, are fast, and I get more questions and gawking stares in it than I ever got in other cars.

An intelligent statement. Not only can just about any car be made fast, I know of quite a few stangs that would absolutely *** rape most cars.

And now to set the record straight...
I have 2 mustangs in my family and i help at a garage with a 68 race car in the works, so i pride myself in some stang knowledge, at least in the realm of tuning. My GF is building a 65 right now, her whole family is "american muscle, we like red trucks, grilling, and beer." so i know what you guys go through hehe. now more recently her dumbass older bro totalled his integra driving home drunk, he now has a red 2-door explorer. I was over there while he was searching for a new car, i tried to shed some light on his muscle-head, but he would not see that 3kGT's, DSM's, even datsun 240z's, were not rice mobiles, so in short, typical mustang owner. On the other hand there is my GF, a V-8 lover but more recently she has gained respect for imports. one night i took her to the local races and ran my families 68 5.0 stang, she saw it get brutally futtbucked by a supra and has understood my liking for 7's ever since, funny stuff to me, maybe not to you.
also, 7 owners are just as cocky, they just don't verbalize it out on the road, its an inner "i am the ****" feeling. and thats my 2 cents.

 

Seriously, 7 owners are just as bad. Most FD owners think that any car other than an FD is a heaping pile of ****.

There's a lot of truth to this statement. I'm pretty modest when talking about the 7, but when I drive, there's a little voice in my head that says i own anything on the road, even if it isn't running right

yesterday i had this 99 stang with a gtr emblem on the side with a SVT cobra wing try to race me. i only went one gear & smoked that chunk of metal (power of a T78)
