i daily drive an 03 civic. Seeing how it's great on fuel economy, kinda roomy, and my 7 is kaput, it's absolute faggotness is somewhat forgiveable. oh, and it's my wife's.

However, to argue that any civic has any amount of potential to be 'cool' is the purest form of mental retardation. i don't care if your brother's-cousin's-friend's-roomate has a 700whp civic, it's still a civic and you can not polish a turd. but to each his own i guess....

Those are fully built K20s inside gutted Drag cars. How many of those cars are street legal? I was looking up times on a normal K20 civic and the average seems to be in high 13s - low 14s.

 

i raced a k20 hatch and beat it dont know what it had in it but he must of been a bad driver then if he didnt walk me.

 

The main thing I have seen is getting them to hook. I raced several turbo civics with plenty of power and they simply can't get off the line without spinning. Setup is huge. At the local street drags, there is a guy with a twin-turbo 300zx that is slow as ****. He entered the burnout contest and could barley spin the tires, pretty pathetic. On the otehr hand, their is a 4-door Hyundai that is amazingly quick. My GSL-SE/Turbo II swap only beat him by a car. That was before my drag radials. It doesn't matter what the car is or what engine it has, the setup, tune, and suspension are all incredibly important. Just because a Civic has a k20 swap doesn't automatically make it fast.

Agreed. I am no Honda man by any means. RWD or AWD only for me. My family has 10 cars and they are all RWD. I just get tired of people focusing too much and what the car once was(Cheap FWD Grocery Mobile) rather than what it is after someone invest a good bit of time and money into something.

I have a friend in a boosted Lude, 240 whp. SHE can't get better than 10.5 in the 1/8 because of traction issues. She's a damn good driver but doesn't have the set-up to put it to the ground from a dig. My 140 whp Lude runs high 9.9 in the 1/8...

 

lmao your way off my friend, iam a rx7 lover(iam on my 3rd fd) but if you think avg k20 honda's run 13s-14s your drunk.. the majority of cars on that list are DAILY DRIVERS that run 11.40s-12.70s( i know because a few of my friends are on that list), your slowest k20a in a hatch back should EASILY run a 12.70s-12.90s on slicks, and thats a bone stock motor... the fastest ive heard so far for a STOCK BOTTEM END motor is 11.80s, the amount of quick ALL MOTOR hondas is gettin sickening around ny/nj i can easily name 15-20hondas just in my area that are in the 11s and 12s street legal..daily drivin, you guys can bitch about how gay hondas are etc etc but the facts are they're cheap and quick, and now and days i worry more about honda's pulling up 2 me and being faster then i do rx7s...sad but true

you guys are hattas! lol. i know of some really fast hondas out there. i just wouldn't own one myself unless it was a NSX or S2000 of course. i know people on both sides of the honda fence. the ricers like a buddy of mine whpo has ruined 3 hondas a 88hatch,89CRX,92 integra trying to street race with little more than tires and wheels.(he painted Type R onto his acura integra and got rid of the acura badges thats enough said). and my cousin who had a nice Civic Coupe a 97 that was fast but looks almost stock,same for his K20 swaped Del Sol(uber sleeper), and his most recent perchase a 1974 Civic hatch(still not on road so i dont know looks nice for a 74 though).

 

i don't care if someone has a 9 sec civic, it's still a ******* civic, and in my book is comparable to other disgustingly fucktarded automobiles such as the geo storm, el camino, tiburon, and neon.

Yeah a gutted EG weighing 2200 lbs with driver. These motors are putting out 250whp modified. So what are the cars running that the K20's actually come in? Thats an average K20 car. There is no pixy dust invlolved in putting a decent motor in a crappy car that weighs nothing.

Why dont you go through this thread of dyno numbers and track times on AVERAGE all motor k20 cars.

Why do people like you even own FD's, if you even own an FD. Now I know why people think FD owners are rich ******. I know alot of Hondas that would smoke my FD and your whatever. Im also surprised your FD hasent turned emo and commited suicide from you driving it.

I do like FD's much better than any Honda (a close fight with the s2k). I think a FD has a much higher potential MOST Honda cars. I still firmly believe being fast is all about the driver.
