Fair enough, but this thread is talking about how a civic is somehow better an FD. And it's not. It could have more horsepower, and I'd still take an FD any day of the week.

Better interior, better suspension, better drivetrain.

 

I'd choose a FD over a FWD honda anyday.

I don't know if that can be considered "gloating." Just because someone got their feelers hurt that an FD got outrun by a Civic doesn't mean they should automatically get all defensive about it. I highly doubt he came on here to stir ****, so I really don't think he meant to gloat.

 

And you'd post about your FD/FC whoopin some civic on clubsi and expect to not get flamed for being a "typical pompous (insert non-honda vehicle) owner"?

Most of us here take our cars to the TRACK. If you seriously feel like your Civic is quicker than an FD, take it to a road course like Laguna seca or Infineon and get an eye opener.

To the original poster. Lets see some pictures of the car that beat the FD. I know its possible. However with the amount of money it takes to make a 250hp K20 FWD Honda, I can build myself a 400+hp FD. I can break into the 11s and not even need to take all the interior out of the car.

I have seen and been in some really fast hondas in my time. I am not even a honda hater. I used to own a H22 Prelude and after owning a FD, I will never go back to FWD unless its my grocery getter.

The fastest Honda i ever raced was a early 90's hatch with a gsr swap. With a header and full exhaust. I had bald *** tires soo he pulled one car off the line after that i had caught him by second and put a car on him by the end of second.

I was impressed but he had spent about 3.5k on the swap which only gave him mid at best 14sec 1/4 mile times.

The bottom line Flavor Drops is that you have to expect this kind of response by posting your kill of an RX-7 on this forum. I don't agree with the bashing your getting, but its life. The reason most people are on this forum is because they love RXs and think they are the best damn thing ever made. When you talk about beating the top of the line RX-7, the twin-turbo third gen, some people are going to get pissed. Like I said I don't agree with it, but its going to happen. The way I see it, you should any car that wants to run ya. I don't care if its a 911 Turbo or a D15 CRX, run what you have. If you get beat by a faster car, so what. If you lose because of a missed shift, be pissed at yourself, not the guy you ran. Only running cars that you think are slower than you is pretty ****-poor. If a 3rd Gen RX gets beat by a Honda Civic, I say congrats to the Civic.

 

LOL, wouldn't have that problem because I'm only a member of rx7club.com and celispeed.com, and no, I don't gloat about beating ANY car unless the driver was a cocky little bastard and got put in his place.
