killed a cobalt in a first gen 12a

the cobalt was one of those cars with the big spoiler and the ricer pipe. i was coming back from the junk yard looking for parts for the build up to a 13b. but i was rolling past him right after the college speed zone. i guess he thought he was hot stuff with that loud pipe or something doing the weaving in and out a traffic. so i rolled past him and he got on it pretty funny that high pitch sound of his car. so of coarse i had to do something. so i down shifted and stepped on it. i just flew passed him like he was standing still. the look on his face was so priceless. like that old thing beat my brand new ricer car. what is that thing?

all i have on the car right now is what came on it. minus the air pump belt and the ac belt a stupid k&n air filter (that last forever only reason i bought the thing) and a new stock looking muffler thats it

There are a handful of cobalts around here. Really damn annoying. All have that ugly spoiler and shitty sounding exhaust.

Someone I know in this area has an SS supercharged Cobalt with some nice mods...runs a mid 12. Still sounds like poo though...I agree. It definitely has the annoying rice-like high pitched exhaust note. Runs great though.
Nice kill

Canadians are a hell of a lot cooler than Americans, my friend. This is coming from an American.

PS: No FB with a 12A on stock ports will beat a Cobalt SS. They may sound like ****, they may have a goofy wing, but they're a hell of a lot faster than an unported naturally aspirated RX-7 in a straight line. Sorry to burst your bubble.

He never said it was an SS! He just said it had a big ricer wing! He never specified that it was an SS wing!

Can a man not throw a different huge, non-SS wing on a Cobalt? or is this not possible?

lol he even said "ricer pipe". that implies massive, non-stock exhaust. Someone who buys an SS would/should know well enough not to throw a ricer exhaust tip on it.

I have an 06 SS/SC Cobalt, (i also have a 93 R1 b4 u jump on me) and the wing is the worst, you cant see a damn thing out the back, but it is still a nice car for the price, dont bash on the car, just on the rice boy driving it

Hey, Bugman, are you claiming you beat a Cobalt SS/SC? or SS? or LS? or what?

At first it sounded like you were talking about a riced-out base model of Cobalt, now I'm not sure.

Hmm, his car probably wasn't running correctly....

I understand the FB is lighter, but the 12A doesn't put out a ton of power....

SS Cobalt would probably beat you. Unless he messed something up.

not to bash on you bugman but more than likely the guy couldnt drive the car even if it was the base model 2.2 like mine.....i had intake, exhaust, springs, ported t/b and run 10.1@72 with a 2.4 60 foot in the 1/8th....frfc ur right the 2.0 s/c without the lsd runs 14.5-14.9 depending on the driver ...ive got a friend with a 2.0 s/c running 13.8@101 with just a aem high flow airfilter....which though when it all comes down to it....its always the driver...not always good to think of other people that drive the same car as being like that one person.....just my .02...b4 u bash on me yes i drive a 05 cobalt. i also own a 88 turbo supra which im parting out the 7m stuff to later this year to drop a 1jz into and also looking at a 88 fc t2 in my area...i look forward to joining the rx7 family
