FD vs Supra's
FD vs Supra's
I raced two different Supra's.
One 3rd gen w/ "lots of stuff done to it" supposedly 362 WHP uncorrected dyno #.
One 4th gen w/ "1000rwhp"
On the 3rd gen (black) I was surprised that he even wanted to race at first because I really thought he was stock. He revved a few times on the highway (55 roll) so I honked 3 times and we shot off. I pulled about a car length over immediately then his turbo spool'd up and he sat right beside me all the way til the end of 4th (~150?). I slowed down and bumped the boost up to 12 psi and ran him again. I immediately pulled off and continued to pull pretty hard. I got about 4 or 5 car lengths before I shut down. We were both pretty excited but he couldn't believe I beat him.
The 4th gen was pretty nuts. I was just cruising and he took off, pulled about 3 car lengths before I even reacted. I later found out he's ~1000whp, but he wouldn't race me from a clean start. Has anyone seen the white 4th gen around here?

lol dont matter anyway. I didnt believe him then, and i wont believe him now.
He can make a thread everyday until 2009 about how his FD defeated "X". If there is no video, it doesnt exist.
I mean come on, he walked a C6 Z06 in his bolt on FD??

hmm...as for the black mk3, i'll have to check with my friend and see if he's been out playing with RX-7s...but then again, he would show more respect to an FD because he does know what they are capable of.
My friends in fuquay varina with a 1jz mk3 black supra...

ya know, anything can be faster or handle better than the next car with the right amount of money and know how, so when people say, I would like to see "X" car beat me or I can beat so and so, its wasting your breath. Having owned both, I still prefer my supra over my fd as a overall thing, but as far as handling/looks, the fd stands out. With the supra it's nice to be able to run 660+whp and 565 lb ft torque on a relatively smaller turbo on 93 pump gas with a decent broad powerband, better build quality in general. I mean the stock powertrain can take 800-900 whp. However regardless, both cars are a blast to drive and driving a 400 whp FD vs a 600+whp FD is a totally different ball game.
I love supras and i defend them but reality is reality.
If you beat a 450rwhp supra on your stock twins, congrats.
I hung with my friends 550rwhp supra (he had 4 people total in car) while i had one 135lbs passenger from about 30-80mph.
danny's my homie. Hes done alot of nice things with his supra.
