FD vs new STI

Met some new friends @ the autocross in homestead speedway Its this rich chinese guy that just bought a 06 STI about 2 months ago.
OK on to the kill

We decided to do a roll @ 40 and i decided to start in 3rd. 3 honks and he got the jump on me about a 1/2 car length on me. Then my turbo got louder and i knew my boost was comming on. In 3rd when i reached 6k i started to pull on him. I changed to 4th and i got 2 car lengths within seconds and it was over from that.
BELOW IS THE PIC OF THE NEW STI I RAN (PICTURES KINDA SMALL)

Next was his brothers 03WRX. we had a open road on the freeway so unless someone makes a mistake theres no reason to say it wasent an even match. started @ 50 3 honks and we were off. i got the jump on him (about a door ) Wastegate opening loud. Shifted to 4th and he started creeping on me as if he was walking. Shifted to 5th and we were dead even on speed no one seemed to be ahead of the other. So i slowed down @ 140mph. Later as we were going to the mall i learned that the 03 WRX had 380 hp @18lbs

BTW i was running 10lbs

everything is the same except the horsepower is jumped by 10. so is the weight.

but to me it seemed slow as hell (except for the 380hp WRX). I started pulling on him before i went to 4th

Good kills!!! I had a chance to see a few run on the highway and i'm pretty impressed with how they pull over 130...granted one was stripped and the other one was heavily modded.

Why not? lol If he has all the boltons and porting, he's pretty easily putting over 300 down...I'm right around there on stock twins!

Running more boost is not going to ruin your motor or sacrifice longetivity. If you ensure you are getting enough fuel & keep your engine cool, it should last a LONG time.

Running 10 psi is retarded on a T-78. All the power on a big turbo like that is upstairs with big boost. Geezuz son, crank your boost up when you run someone. Why mod your FD if you don't take advantage of its power output? Its like giving an M-60 machine gun to your grandma...big firepower but she can't lift the gun to use it.

See ya,
-Matt

running 10psi on a T78 is like punching your mom in the face instead of hitting her accross the jaw with a tire iron. why settle for less?

Damn James. I hope you DESTROYED the 06 STI with the T-78. You get a FMIC yet? I owned a stock STI from 20 and I'm on twins still. Like it wasn't really a race.
