FD vs GSX-R 1000
I was driving down the highway texting my GF on my phone when I notice a motorcycle merging onto the highway a few cars in front of me. After quickly finnishing my text i proceed to accelerate past the other cars pace the bike for a few seconds at about 70mph(trying to figure out what it was) all I could notice at this point was the "GSXR" the driver then looks over and gives a frienldy smile( no helmet )
I then downshifted from 5th to 4th then to 3rd. No cars in front of us as far as the eye can see. Then i noticed him reching for his clutch lever( not sure what you call it) and he downshifts I begin brake boosting(11-12 psi) and I wait to see if he jumps first(I have no horn to honk). It sounded like he slowly ,and steadily layed into the gas rather than just punching it. bbbbaaaAAAHHHH!!!!!!! the race is ON!
When he fully opened the throttle his front wheel pulled about a foot in front of my bumper. Redline in 3rd is coming fast and I wrap it out to 8k. at this point i'm a little suprised i'm still with him. Then I hear him bounce off the rev limiter a few times and he falls back to my door With my foot still welded to the floor i actually "inched" him out about another foot. And as I was aproaching 140 he lets out while he is still just behind my passanger door. We both slow down to the speed limit and when he rolls back up to my window he nods and I return the gesture then he continues on his way. I paced him for a few more seconds untill I could see the number 1000 on the rear section of the bike. Needless to say I was very suprised and excited about the outcome of the race
Now before the BS flags start popping up left and right I'd like to be the first to admit I should have got my a$$ waxed bad. The only reasons I can think of that would would explain the outcome are he was a 220-30 lbs (at least) noob that started in the wrong gear. And he just wasn't experienced at racing? it deffinatley wasn't a "new" bike, which to my understanding are a lot faster than the older ones (pre 2000). And i'm sure bouncing off the rev limiter didn't help him. Or maybe he just put a 1000 sticker over his 600-750? I'm not very familiar with bikes so the only way I can tell what they are is by what it says on the bike
can anyone tell me how bad "should" have been pulled?
Oh yea my mods are:
stock twins
Efini y-pipe
Intake
DP, MP, CB
PFS SMIC
PFC w/ commander
tuned at Gotham by Steve Kan to 13psi (and after the race i looked at my Profec and noticed I creeped up to about 13.6 i think about 96 %IDC)
I'm not trying to say I can take out liter bikes or anything (just weak riders i guess lol) so please don't think I'm coming off as cocky.
Thanx for reading!

ok assuming u have the mods u say, at best 400 rwhp with extreme tuning and very good turbos, i\c etc...ok at that hp/w8t ratio u can do a lil damage to a 600 cc bike, but even they will be hard to beat with the rite rider...ok u stated the guy had no helmet, well i can tell u that at around 100 mph the breathing and seeing where u are goin is impossible with that wind speed on a bike. and frankly his w8t does little to slow a 1liter down...they have monstous hp, even the old ones. I think it was the no helmet situation, which offcourse i mite add, u are safe and protected and he is thinkin of his kids at that point..then the wind sheer at hi speed is no joke without a helmet...and the fact that he was just playing or doesnt know how to ride....i think its the wind plus him playin around to be honest...i do it all the time, i play with cars and let them pass me..and i know they swear they did something..but i know the truth.lol

Yeah, I also have to say he probably had the bike like a day. I've never even attempted 60+ on mine without a helmet, it's just dumb. Not to mention that bugs hurt like a sunofabitch when they hit you going that fast. I remember racing a civic when I first got mine and I started in like 4th because I didn't want to lock up the rear tire trying to down shift. Good kill though.

Thanx for the props guys, I haven't had the car dynoed yet but I would guess my car is in the LOW 300's. Thats what Steve said after tuning.
So I can understand why anyone would doubt my story. But no flags yet so...

Man why do I always hear about these n00bs on 1000cc bikes
A kill is a kill! At least you are smart enough to know that this guy might not be a good rider. I'm glad you made this squid fell like **** because he lost.
I dont care what laws your state has, riding without a helmet is just plain stupid

Great kill man! I had a similar incident not too long ago, never found out what Gixer it was, but I had a lot of doubters too. My mods are very similar to yours as well. But my guy was slim, and he def. didn't miss a gear, and def. didn't bounce of the rev limiter. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=299449

I own an 05 GSXR1000 and a mod FD similar to yours; my bike would leave my car in the dust.

Well I just heard from a member on a local board that knows the guy. He wasn't a squid, he was SERIOUSLY sandbaging. She said he only downshifted to 5TH GEAR instead of second. Talk about being owned lol. No biggy it was still fun none the less. I'm currently trying to find out what year the bike was.
stay tuned...

Ok, well like I said the rider supposedly only downshifted to 5th gear. but this just doen't sound right to me. I sware I heard him bouncing off the rev limiter at around 100 mph. that just doesn't seem to add up. could any of you liter bike riders please chime in and help fill in the blanks? oh yea it was an 03

Just take a bike on the corners and they will fall behind very fast. Yes I know the CBR1000's can pull what 9's in the 1/4 but in an actual driver skill comp a bike can't hang with a car. 4 wheels planted to the ground adds so much more to the game.

but, oh yeah, I do agree that riding without a helmet is just plain stupid.
REally. You could get tapped by a car in a parking lot (both of you going 5mph) and you could fall , hit your head on a curb, and end up in the mourge.
(wouldn't that be a great way to die, all your friends" well he died on a bike[in a praking lot] at least he was on his bike)
Yeah, they made a no helmet law here in FL a few years back. If you're dumb enough to ride and not wear a helmet, you deserve to get your head split(not on the highway either- I know almost all high speed bike accidents are fatal anyways....) in your small urban streets.......
yeah, I've rode a few bikes, and yeah, the feel of riding sans-helmet is just great, awesome peripheral vision, all the noises and smells(not always good) are right there for ya.
But the wind, bugs and all other things mentioned before, make riding like that a real pain.
But I guess that if you feel it's worth the risk...... then go for it.
Oh yeah, It's a common site in the mountains of Colorado to see guys on street bikes carving the mountians wearing nothing but shorts, t-shirt, and sandals.
Those guys are really asking for it, and yeah, deaths are quite regular out there
Rant off
