Decided to mess with a C5 Z06...

in my stock '89 NA . I pulled next to a yellow C5 Z06 at a light because I thought there was only one stright lane. Well, the one he was in was stright/right. So I nod and he gives a thumbs up. I said "nice Vette" but I don't think he heard me. The light goes green, I start off the same way I always do, we cruise till about 4k in second and I stomp it. He was right next to me the whole time until I missed third. The sad part is, I think he was just driving normally. So we get to the next light and I take off the same, except once the clutch was out I stomped it. I chirped second, and just as that happened he flew by me in first, got about a carlength on me, hit second, broke the back weels loose for a couple seconds and was gone. Then we lined up in third and it was no contest. We came to another light and there was a car in front of him that he stayed behind, so we gave each other thumbs up as I passed him and we went on our way. I got completely destroyed... I don't even know if you could consider it a race, but it was a fun time for me and my girlfriend, and probably twice as much fun for him. Not the most exciting story, but I had a great time so I figured I would share.

The End.

Yeah man who cares if you lost, you had guts for trying to run a really quick stock car. (if the car was even stock).

Some vette owners dont even give other car guys the time of day because they think they are all high and mighty so he must be a cool guy to just run a mazda.

Agreed. I always find it amusing the contempt some Vette owners have for other cars on the road. It's like they forget they're driving a Chevy

The guy was definitely really cool, which made it all worth it. And trust me, I had no intentions on winning. The first thing I said to my girlfriend was, "Wanna see me get beat?"

Mustang owners are pretty bad, but at least sometimes they can back up their talk. Ricers are the absolute worst, because they think they own the road in their '89 Acura Legend/Civic/whatever, but they are some of the slowest cars out there.
