i hate the evo! its nothing more the a glorifed DODGE NEON!!!! You cant compare a family sedan to a 12+ yrs old SPORTS CAR! and the 4G63 is a **** motor in my opinion. the best 4cyl that came out of jp was the honda D,B,H,F series.

Did some evo driver **** in your oaties and make you eat it?

Yawn, all this hate is boring... A stock evo vs stock Fd, probable the FD will win in a circuit. Rally the evo will win. Bumpy backraod touge? **** knows. (Given equal drivers and excluding munchkins)

of though not sold in america the FD was produced until 1998 the evo is going into its 10th gerneration until the Evo 7 the Lancer Evolution was not sold to the states and yes the 4G63 motor is a great motor as far as a piston motors go. i like evos 3-6 the new ones are ugly but they can perform. the main problem with pitting a FD vs an Evo is they where biult with 2 totally different uses in mind.the Evo was biult to dominate WRC while the FD was meant as a track car.

Didn't want to read all of the pages but I'd be willing to bet if you put 5g into both cars the rx7 would be much much faster.

well what do you expect man awd does not handle tight fast corners like rwd does, if you push the very edge with awd you can get some nasty understeer, but if you push to the very edge with rwd (on tarmac surface) the back end will step out nice and smooth and then you carry through into a drift and keep hauling ***. Of course in the tight twisties on asphalt any awd car is going to have serious trouble keeping up with rwd its the nature of the beast but if the turns arent super tight the awd is actually better as long as you can take the turn as fast as you feel comfortable with with no understeer.

AWD is the ****, it has its place just like RWD. What really has no place in performance driving is FWD what good is it, understeer in corners and mad wheel spin in drag races because of weight transfer to the rear of the car off of launch lol.

RWD/AWD>FWD

Hey dumbass, you're on the wrong forum. Go back to the DSM forum and tell them about how you lost to an old Mazda. You're trying to compare a two-seat sports car to a 4-door grocery getter.

I also wanted to know if the owner of this car is on these forums.

I wish I saw this post sooner. The owner of this car is a friend of mine. His name might be Javier on paper, I'm not sure, but everyone calls him Ivan. He definitely doesn't post on here.

Here are some specs I know off the top of my head about this car. If you didn't already know, the car has a gang of Shine Auto Aero parts on it .

First off, it's a genuine right hand drive JDM car imported and legally driveable .

His car has a single turbo upgrade, fmic, and other basic **** with a water injection system. Basically, it's almost like every other modded Rx7. Now what makes his car kick *** he believes is the AEM EMS unit and the tuning. I believe he is doing 400whp on pump gas at the moment. Not sure at what boost level. So far, he's been smoking everything in site including his cousin's skyline R33.

His car is no joke, so I'm not surprised you are impressed.

All in all, I feel the Rx7 is an all around car for the straightaway, the track, and the touge. Rx7 owners loves the way it drives because you FEEL like you're in a sports car.

The reason why I like it is because no one else likes it . It's affordable and can pretty much spank everything on the street AND look good doin it. It will take you guys all year long to argue what car is the fastest. It's pointless. It's all about what aspects of the car make you happy......and for me, it's because of PRICE, RAREITY, LOOKS, AGILITY, AND SPEED.

There is no doubt that the Evo is a good car, but I don't think you should be surprised you ran into an Rx7 that was fast. I mean common...it's an Rx7

One more thing... Of course you will get alot of biased response coming to an RX7 forum. That's a given. But I appreciate you coming in and admitting you got smoked. If you have $1,000 of mods, forget about it. No chance.

Ken

As far as evo's being over rated... check ur facts bro. An fd that is mildly or heavily modfied only last for about 20k miles and an sti block is more prone to detonating because it has aluminum block and heads. The 4g63 is cast iron... which means it can take a hell of a beating and doesn't have to be sleeved. The 4g63 motor is good for 600-620 carank hp. Tell evo owners that is overrated! Why don't u guys check out WWW.Evolutionm.net and look @ the proof of facts that I am talking about.
Well my stock block makes over 600 Crank HP as it sits right now with nothing but porting. So basically that is like me running aftermarket heads. I give Evo's props but have yet to run into one that would give up a fight even from a dig........ Once my slicks get warmed up I can rip a sorry little Evo/Sti out of the hole no problem.

The FD is more stock than wall street, all it got is a K&N drop in air filter and an exhaust , isn't that right Ken?....... Ken is just messing around. Also the tuner doesn't know what he's doing so the car runs like crap, the EVO should have no problem taking him out. I think the only reason why the car seem to be moving on the fwy is because the awesome aerodinamics of the shine auto body package.
Now let's place some bets
EVO FD

I can arrange a date with the FD, but I have to warn you...... the owner won't use any lube.
