A civic is a pretty quick car, and could probably beat a 17 year old car, but it is NOTHING or ever to be compared to a RX7 of any type or year, a real sports car for true tuning. But enjoy the civic and all the other 20,000 around your area......

Yea, ok so there are alot of civics, what does it matter? Are they Si's? no... and even if there were, I wouldn't really give a ****... No more carrying water in the trunk, or smelling like fumes, no more 12mpg, and I don't have cops starring at me all ******* day... Granted I love rx7's and propably always own one, but not as a DD...

Its not even that, its the fact that there is alot of **** talking with no facts.... Lets say he is putting down 191whp, which is ******* awesome for a streetport(I still have doubts..), and the si is putting 180(giving the benefit of doubt), thats an 11 whp difference. Would 11 whp allow him to put 3 1/2 cars in one gear?? I raced a stock 350 and he Didnt put 3 cars on me....So either you are putting down way more than 191whp or the guy wasn't even trying....

2 and half lengths Net, not goss. If you have owned so many Rx-7's? How did you forget just how long their gears are. I can go 138mph in 4th bud.

And and by the way, its an agressive streetport made with a Judge ITO template...a very good porting schematic....

sorry to burst everyones bubble but the honda Civic is not a performance car!
it is a daily driver and by no means fast!

many family cars could run the QTR in the same time as the SI i am sure ; )

MARTIN,

please understand that 190HP "at the wheels" is MORE POWER than 190HP "at the flywheel"

probably by at least 25% or more(dependant on car, transmission, drive assembly etc.)

assuming a 15% (conserative) driveline loss, 190 whp is about 225 at the flywheel.

Not spectacular, but more than a stock Civic is going to have, and more than enough to have some fun in a light, REAR DRIVE, well sorted out sports car while humiliating a riced out grocery getter

Hm, it's only funny because his 'Vert is much faster then a stock T2, probably even mildly modded ones..I know from experience, I've ridden in his T2, my T2, and another...

I'd like to see a mostly stock T2 take his 'Vert...it would be interesting, as his has taken T2's many times...

And there off! Oh, the turbo just shifted, but wait! Tofuball is still going! What's that? 9300rpm? Ohh, there goes the T2....

where did he say a HIGHLY modified TII?? he was refering to STOCK TII, and he IS right about it.

Ok now lets see if you undersand this.... There are si's boasting that power stock.... I even posted a dynosheet of a friend who dyno'd his STOCK at 190+whp... Another posted 193whp with just a coldair... And there are family cars that go faster, but you won't find them for less than 50k, unless you consider an srt4, evo, sti a family car..

Bottom line is he beat a car that costs how many times more, that is also 16 years newer, with damn near no miles on it. Get over it Martin, or go back to the civic forums. He posted a kill, it wasnt hyped up or exagerated, so again, get over it. I have done commercail work for the big H and have drove the **** outta a si, including the new hatchback that isnt on sale yet as far as I know. The Si seemed slow for the claimed 190 HP, but either way IMO it is a DD only, and handled like crap. Good thing the new civic guys stay on the straights because in the corners it isnt even close. But like I said a good sporty DD, if you can stand a FWD car.

First of all, people that use the price of the car as an argument for performance is a retard... And the year of the car is also irrelevant... BTW a stock civic will outhandle any stock fc any day.... Look at the slalom speeds, look at the skid pad... So you drove the typer hatchback??? REally??

Look, honestly..... I know this **** aint going nowhere.... Ok w.e. he took him 2 cars congrats on the kill....

P.S. Socalrotor you are FULL OF ****!.!.

If you can find those speeds for the FC done with modern tires, please post them. Have you ever driven an FC, just out of curiousity? If so, which model. Just wondering, not trying to start **** or argue.. but I honestly cant see how you think a civic can outhandle one ( at least a model with the sport suspension). I do agree that even a stock newer Si will beat most N/A FCs in a drag race. But I think you need to consider maybe you havent been in any well modified N/As FCs either to get a good comparison.

guess you weren't around a year ago when I posted the si picks as well as the ridgeline. I could care less what you think to be honest, your just another blind to the facts hondaboy, I understand completely. The civic hatch wasnt a type r it was a blue si. I work for a company called la prep they are the sole co. that does ALL of hondas marketing, so no bs sorry kid. just giving my 2cents, so chill the **** out.

the first pic is the blue hatch I drove about 5 HARD miles. The rest are pics I took 8-8-05.... so who is full of **** now.........

First of all, there is a BIG BIG BIG difference between the hatch YOU drove and that ex/lx vs an 06 si and the type-r hatch that I thought you were talking about when you said "I dont think its even for sale yet". That hatch that you see pictured, is the OLD Si that isn't even for sale anymore, it was for sale from 02-05 IIRC. That car is outpowered, out handled, and out featured by an 06 si.... Chances are that if you think the Si handles shitty, then you haven't driven it...
