2006 Civic Si Vs. 1990 Modded N/A

Mods in Sig...

It was a Blue (maybe black, was dark) 2006 Civic Si. I was on I-75 going north in the center lane when he comes up on me in the fast lane. I was doing 70 mph and once he saw me he slowed to match my speed. I knew he wanted to go. I couldnt tell at first what the hell it was. I slowed down a bit so he could pass and saw the Si and the new model body. I got up along side him. He had his Girlfriend with him (untinted, actualy had the inteior light on).
He rolled down his window, i thought he might want to say when we were to go. So as I look down to roll my window down...he takes off. He puts a full length on me before I can downshift to 3rd. But once I do...I steadily walk on him through 3rd. By the end of third i have about two to two and half lenghts. He shuts down, seeing that he cant win. I do too. And by the hammer of Thor, true to all his brethern, he does a flyby once i slowed down. WAVING I MIGHT ADD!

Haha....

Good stuff

What kind of mods did you guys have to beat a new Civic SI? They have better top end than the FC and they have 197BHP. Most N/A's dont see that kind of HP without crazy porting, and lot's of supporting mods.

modded N/A = low 15 second/ high 14 second car if ported etc etc. 06 Civic Si = low 15 second car stock? ... seem about right

Yep, a modded N/A can be fairly quick of done right. Nothing breathtaking, but a solid mid 14sec car is not out of the question. I dont doubt it one bit, I could walk slightly modded TSI AWD Talons when I had my old N/A.

Did you read? He is modded. Last time I remember Anti-Rice Cannon is around 200hp to the wheels. Good luck if you ever race him.

^^^^Dumb ****^^^
To the wheels and to Crank are two different things.
I was dyno'd at 191 REARwhp
Oh one more thing...how much do you wiegh?

I really am sick of people saying how slow N/A Rx7's are. I can easily take an S5 TII stock. Read my mod list. Power wise there nothing more i can do to my car besides bigger porting,stand-alone (not worth it), or N2O. I'm no rocket, ive ran dead even with a few Eclipse GST and Talon Tsi, and I know the guy's who own the cars. They have a good amount of mod's as well. And they are all getting around 230ish to the crank. YOU CAN HAVE A FAIRLY FAST N/A. period.

I have a 91 n/a with mazdatrix true duals exhaust w/ a RB header and RB racing canisters, HKS intake, FC1000 ignition, 4.10 LSD and GTU tranny w/ a ACT XTR 6puck ceramic clutch kit & a RP short shifter, Tein SS coilovers, ST sway bars, CS F & R strut bars, stock rims and tires and 156k on a stock engine. I have never dyno the car or even gone to a drag strip yet but on the road I have taken many RSX-type S, gst, n/a 300zx, integras GSR/type R and older model(99) Si's w/ mods. I have hit 154mph. N/A's can be fast and they are.

I actually failed to read his mods, I'll give you that much but don't talk **** about me racing him. I hope you weren't referencing my RX7 as you obviously haven't seen my garage And that's with the old turbo setup and not the T-70 that's going in.

Guy you need to calm down. I did not read your mods, hence that's why I asked "what type of mods do you have" Not my fault everyone else was calling B.S.

Totally believeable, infact, it's quite believeable that you trashed him. A Si weighs 2877lbs..over 3000-3100 with passengers..

They dyno at about 179whp (not a totally reliable source, but from one of the civic clubs on the net..got the same answer from 2 different ones, so.)

So..a lighter RX-7, with almost 200rwhp...wham bam bye bye Si

Martin..wtf? You think a Civic Si can make 200whp stock? Do you shoot heroin in you're NECK?

^^^An amazing car at that ^^^

People just for some reason think N/A's are such pigs. The love for them offered by the Turbo II guys is almost non-existent.

Oh...no question, a turbo charged rx7 is cooler than an N/A. I would love to have one. trade mine in an instant. But the turbo guys just jump all over you when ever you have something good to say.
