Yes, hood will come with the rain gaurd.

Kevin, I've decided to pull the motor, and paint the bay while we're at it. I'm also going to pull everything out of the back "trunk" and paint back there as well. I don't think I'll ever quit changing stuff. haha

Would you leave a window open in a room full of servers while it is raining?

Think of the rainguards that way, many electronics where the vents are placed and if you have seen this hood from birdeye then engine bay is really open to the elements.

that is true, i understand what you mean now, so its like the heat shield on the original hood but instead its gonna stop from letting water coming in, cool. hopefully it will be easy to take off since it will block air flow when its not raining

yes, FRP hood comes with FRP rain guards and CF will come with CF ones. The rain guards will be fixed by screws and can be easily taken off with a screw driver. Yes, the purpose of rain guard is to guide water into exiting from a place that will not directly pour onto the electronic components in the engine bay.

Just looked through the whole thread and it was never posted as to what weave the hood will be. I would assume that it is going to be plain weave as per my original body kit order, but......... I don't want to not say anything and have a twill weave hood show up after 4 months of waiting.

We are planning on only offering the hood in plain weave unless there is special request on twill weave before the end of this GB. In the future, we will only offer the hood in plain weave.

The shipment is actually scheduled to arrive within this week. But we will definitely need to take couple days to do some final inspection and pack the stuff. So yeah, we will start shipping the widebody kits out during the first & second week of Jan.

The hoods are coming as well but only 4 units are made for this batch since we do not want to make too many before we make sure on the fitment.

Updates? Car is going to paint in a few weeks. Sure would be sweet to put on a brand new hood when it's done.

Sorry about the late update, the shipment came in on Thursday and we have been getting some package ready for shipping. There is good news and bad news about the shipment.

Good news: the widebody shipment came in along with the bumpers and everything arrived safely so we will be getting some of the widebody out on Monday once the shipping payment is received.

Bad news: there was some misunderstanding at the factory end and they did not ship out the hoods since they thought it was a half completed order due to us only had 4 hoods. So they did not put the hoods in this shipment. We called them earlier this morning and added four more hoods since the shipment has been delayed already so we might as well get more units made. We apologize for this delay and the hoods will have to come on the next shipment around mid February.

hey wanted to know something, if im getting a Mazdaspeed gt-concept bumper will the re-amemiya front fender be a OEM fit together? since i m doing some maintenance on the car might as well chance the whole piece if its about to rust.

so wanted to know if they would match together and if the curves of the car follow with it, let me know. If they do i might be interested in a set.

jknapik... I think you got my email but if not Ill post it here to for you and other members who might have similar questsion... As far as the fenders fitment with other bumpers they mount to the stock locations so they will fit up against any bumpers that have stock fitment on the sides... AS far as the fenders the only way they will fit is with the side skirts... the reason being is back by the door the fnder cuts off half way and the side skirts meet up with it to finish the side of the fender... I have the add-on layed over it but look at the pictures for referance to get an idea... Where the add-on is laying over the fender is where the fender ends..

And here is the side of the sideskirt that connects to complete the fender...

I hope that helps answer some questions... You do not however need to have the rear-add ons any body shop should be able to tie the rear into the body with a little molding...

few questions

have you sorted out the fitment issues with the kit, as per MotoTeks post on page 9?

What are the weight differences on the carbon fibre compared to the FRP?

Also, shipping to the UK? is that possible?

Cheers.

The carbon fiber version widebody or front bumper kits are special order only. The weight saving between the two have not been measured so we do not have a number for you.

Yes, the CF material option is available for the hood. We currently have couple plain weave CF hoods done for the first batch. All future units will be twill weave and plain weave will not be offered unless by special order.

For the ETA on the hood, again, we apologize for the delay. The next shipment should be leaving the production facility at the end of this month or latest during first week of Feb. So about 2 weeks from now, we should have the hoods in. Thanks to everyone again for your patience and understanding!

carbonn, sorry about not replying to your question on shipping, must have missed your initial post. We will need your exact address for providing a precise shipping quote. Please email or pm us your shipping address. Thanks!
