Alright, 15 of you should have received the shipping confirmation email from DHL. Your packages are going out tomorrow (Thursday) morning. For the rest of you, sorry, this is the fastest we can pack these things for today. So the rest will go out on Friday.

All shipments are shipped via DHL Ground fully insured. Some of your addresses showed up as remote delivery locations for DHL service so those of you might experience a short delay in transit time.

Just got my CF lip at work today and found that the packaging had been damaged and the lip i just waited "forever" for is damaged here are some pics i will be contacting jkl and dhl and hopefully it will be resolved quickly between them. dont want to wait another couple months.

 

We are really sorry to see the product being damaged during shipping. The good news is we purchased full insurance for all of our shipments so we will contact DHL and file a claim. Please understand that it might take a while until we can get the claim processed. Once we get the reimbursement, we will send you another CF lip for replacement.

BTW, we even put "Fragile" on both sides of all the boxes. We hope the other DHL drivers will be more careful during delivery.

 

the speedy response is much appreciated and from what i can see i will say that the lip was correctly packaged and clearly labeled as fragile. other than the damage i must say i am very pleased with the final product. thanks again for your help.

Yeah, we still have plenty door handles left. And we are also releasing tons of new products for FD in the near future.

 

Nice LIP!, sucks that it got damage...


Here's mine. Got it today. DHL said Est. 6-5-08, but I got them today. DHL is always off when it comes to delivery date. This is the 2nd time they delivered 3 days early. Not that I'm complaining but it could really mess up your schedule.

Well anyway, I gots mie TODAY!, no damage. I'm not sure about the quality material-wise and it seems like it can just shatter into pieces.. really fragile, it's like potato chips.

The replication looks good, but I haven't put it on yet.

Let's see who's going to shatter their lip first !


Here's mine. Primed it, painted and clear coated right away. As soon as it dries up, it's going right no the front where it belongs and see how soon it'll break into tiny pieces haha.

I was gonna do some wet sanding and more clear coating, but ... eh..it's gonna shatter someday..hopefully not within a week..

It won't shatter because it's highly flexible and durable. It's flexible FRP.

You probably feel it is really easy to bend and it's softer than regular material. That's hybrid FRP. You might feel the outer layer will shatter or crack because it is just a protective paint coat we put on for protection against minor damages during shipping. It needs to be sanded off before you paint the lip. That protective paint coat might crack if you severely bend the lip but it does not matter because that coat is not meant to be there for actual installation.

Here is the example of our lip being bent and don't worry, it won't shatter that easy.

Yeh, I just kinda went ahead and painted it right away as soon as I got it yesterday. Maybe I'll clear coat it again and bake it., but I wanna put it on later when I get home!!, it's gonna be nice.

rxtuner79, we are very sorry to see another victim. pm'ed you. We will file a claim for your case immediately.

From now on, we will try to add more packing materials to prevent these accidents from happening. Hopefully, these won't happen again or we will have to use another carrier which might cause a raise in shipping prices.

 

Thank you for the quick response. I said this in the PM, but I don't think any amount of packing could prevent that from happening. It must have just been bad luck. But thanks again for the great customer service!

 

I received mine yesterday with no problems. mine was FRP though, didnt feel flimsy at all to me. the box was a little beat up, apparently DHL just ignores the fragile markings?? hope to have some on-car pics tonight
