Thumbs up GB:99 Spec Replica FlexFiber Front Bumper

Just throwing this out here see if there is any interest for a possible GB on 99 spec FlexFiber front bumpers. We can offer both the plateless version and the exact replica with plate version.

The bumper will be made of FlexFiber material which is extra durable and flexible FRP so you wont have to worry too much about it cracking like ordinary FRP or fitment since it will be much easier to fit.

Again, we will guarantee the quality and fitment of our products.

The price will be around $500-550 depending on the amount of orders. Also, if there is interest, we can also offer a package deal on our 99 spec lips with this bumper.

If you want to do this you need to at least come in close in price to the going rate prices on the plated and plateless. I have the urethane plateless model that I bought for 280 from Race-On(old RE Extreme mold). Granted fitment isn't the greatest. I would like to replace it with a fiberglass version though. Pettit also sells a plateless version for I believe around 500-600. The OEM plated bumper was on sale for 400 not long ago too. Come in under 400 and I think you could sell some.

First of all, for urethane parts, the cost of production is much cheaper than FRP once the mold is done. The Pettit version retails for $580 and it's made of regular FRP. Our version will be made of our FlexFiber material which will be much more durable and flexible than regular FRP. The cost of producing FlexFiber parts is higher than regular FRP. Like we have mentioned, we will always try our best to come down on the price if we could get more interest. Right now, we are just throwing this project out here to see if there is people interested.

Would this still require a the 99spec rebar? And would the 99spec brake ducts and undertray fit it?

For our 99 spec exact replica bumper, technically, you do not have to use a 99 spec rebar because you can just modify the 93-95 rebar turn signal housing area to make them fit the housings on the 99 spec bumper. If you already have a 99 spec rebar, then yes, it will work since our bumper will be an exact replica of the OEM. For the other 99 spec accessory parts, yes, they will work.

RE Urethane bumper = Crappy fitment and poor quality ( I should know I have one).
Pettit = Nice product with potential to crack.

I say the FD community should be happy to see that we have a vendor that wants to make products that both fits well and can withstand some abuse.

rcarson25, thank you for your support and kind comment.

What we are trying to do is offer others who did or do not have a chance to get an original 99 spec bumper the chance to get one locally any time they want. Since Mazda will eventually stop production on these bumpers and that might be soon, so not everyone who wants this bumper can actually get a hold of one. Another problem with the urethane bumper is deformation due to aging since they tend to sag or deform over time due to the lack of rigidity. There is always pros and cons about everything, so our bumper will just be an additional option made available to those who are looking for the 99 spec bumper.

so these plateless 99 specs will fit better than the polyurethane ones? over time it wont sag/deform? are you guys starting the molds on these yet? can you guys add or fix the lower lip in the "mouth" area? the lower lip on the OEM ones go back more, with the two small "fins" being longer, and on the polyurethane ones the are shorter and there fins are really small... also will we have to transplant the mounting hardware from our OEM bumpers for best fitment or will it already be included in the mold? thanks guys and sorry for all the questions...

That's actually a really good question regarding the mounting hardware, we were actually thinking about just replicating the bumper exactly like the OEM so you will need to remove the metal mounting hardwares from your stock bumper to install them. But then, if everyone would like us to mold the mounting flaps in just like the GT-C bumpers we offer, we can sure do that.

As far as the lip part, we will not do any modifications to the bumper. We will be using an almost brand new condition genuine 99 spec OEM bumper as our mold, so yeah, our bumper should fit really well. We will also be making them out of the FlexFiber so you should not have any major fitment issues.

This GB might be dead but we are already doing the mold so at least the regular OEM replica bumper will be offered anyways.

We will consider doing the plateless version if there are enough interest to initiate a GB. Show your interest if you want the plateless version!

Since the GB most likely wont happen due to lack of interest, the price will probably be set at $550 + shipping

We are always up to offering some GB discount if multiple orders can be organized.

Got rid of my polyurethane unit a while back because of said fitment issues, it was a nightmare getting it to fit as well as it did. Looking forward to seeing how these bumpers fair. Add me to the interested list for 99 Spec plateless Flex Fiber bumper.
