Thumbs up FD & FC Rear Diffuser GB Is Back!!!

We apologize for putting this project on hold for a while and now we have just brought it back. As some of you may still remember, we had a GB interest thread for this project a while ago but due to the pending status and forum server changes, our old thread was deleted.

These diffusers are built to work on both FD and FC so we will have them test fitted on both cars to show some results.

We currently just got some sample units made and here we posted the pictures of our DuoCarbon version of the diffuser. We made these diffusers for our sponsored race team and we will see the diffuser tested on track very soon. The DuoCarbon version is stronger in integrity than regular CF version so it is more suitable for track cars.

Installed pictures will be posted soon when they are available.

So now this GB is on and here are the pricing:
All Paypal payment must be sent to sales@jklre.com with the 3% paypal fee included. You MUST put the product name and your forum name in the subject line and the order specification (eg. options, material choices) in the description part while sending paypal.

You can also make the payment directly via credit cards by calling us.

This GB does not have an minimum order requirement to initiate since the mold has already been produced. Please pm us or email at sales@jklre.com for any questions!

Deposit: $200 to participate in GB

FRP Diffuser + Center Generator: $450 + shipping ($410 for 10+ orders)
CF Diffuser + Center Generator: $850 + shipping ($800 for 10+ orders)
DuoCarbon: Special Order ONLY (contact us for details!)

I'm definately interested but not willing to commit until I see what happens with the RE Amemiya AD-GT project.

Dang, I guess it's been a couple of months since I've seen the Tapped Racing cars.... very much like the diffuser!

I can tell anyone who might be considering a diffuser that any time I talk to Brian or Grey Ghost (the team owner), they'll wax poetic about what an edge the package gives them. Guess I'm going to have to think about one... damn it! ;-)

Yea, both Brian and Aly are very pleased with the package we custom built for them (the parts on their race cars may look the same as the ones we sold to regular customers, but most of their parts are custom reinforced for their application).

We might currently have one last CF rear diffuser in stock depending on if the current buyer wants to go through with the order. Give us a call or email if interested in placing an order, please remember to mention RX7Club since you will get a member discount if you do.

Are they availible without the center generator? If so, whats the price in FRP ( for FC )? Also is all hardware included, like the struts shown behind the rear wheels?

Yes, all the mounting hardwares will be included as shown in the installed pics posted in the first post only.

Yes, FRP diffusers are available for both FD and FC but only with center generators.

I'm in, but which one?

After paddocking next to the Tapped folks and seeing this up close (and speaking with Brian and Mike - Mike's going to cage my car this winter)....I'm in. Wish I had it for Infineon. Question is which way to go - FRP or CF? I'm on the GB for the wing in CF 'cause I figured the wing didn't get much abuse, but I currently scrape my tail pipe when putting the car on the trailer, so I'm afraid I'd have to remove this each time I put the car on and off (Tapped has a nice Renegade with lift so they don't have this problem). Is FRP a better choice due to the abuse this might receive, or will the CF hold up? How big of a PITA will it be to take this on and off?

Unfotunately they lost the right rear hub on turn 6 Sunday - that car and diffuser doesn't look like that anymore.....and Brian did more carving on his rear fenders to blend in the air off the rear brakes and wheel well. It looked really good....until the hub separated. Good video of him when it happened......

FRP would be ideal for street and occasional track events since the clear coat on the CF might not be very durable for your case since you seem to scrape very easily. However, the CF might be better if you are aiming for a long term track only setup since it does offer a superior rigidity if the risk of hitting a speed bump is minimized.

As far as the current installation hardwares go, it is not designed for a quick on and off installation. But removing the piece will obviously be much faster than the first time installation. You can possibly have local machine shop fabricate you a set of hardwares that can adapt the use of quick release fasteners so you can pop it on and off quickly when needed. But be extremely careful with the direction of install and mechanism of the fasteners you are using since the diffuser will be subjected to an extensive level of downforce and the last thing you definitely dont want to see your diffuser flying off of your rear end.

Regarding mounting hardware and the FC, where does the center mount to? In the picture of the red FC posted earlier, it looks like it's mounted up between the gas tank and bumper support. I usually see people mount them to the bumper but personally I'd much rather have it solidly mounted.

bjbubble, the center FC mount does go to where the rebar is which is a more solid mount than rear bumper (like the RE version diffuser, I believe).

muibubbles, the ETA of the first batch shipment is around mid August. We will have both FRP and CF units available by then. The GB is intended to get enough exposure for this new product so it will depend on the result of this advertisement. We are looking at closing this GB by end of August but might extend it. We will have more mounted pictures once the first batch is completed and hopefully some good installation instruction too. Yes, this might be the most track efficient and aggressive diffuser generally sold for the RX-7.

Ok, since my car is track only I'm in for CF...but I'd really like to take delivery of the wing before I commit new deposit money on another project - just prudent business. I'll send a deposit the day I get my wing - there's an incentive to get it done!

sure, the wings will be ready around mid August.

We might also have a shipment of these diffusers come in at the same time as well.

Intersting, this setup is very similar to what I want to do with my diffuser.
what would charge for a copy of this ?

Bumpity bump

Ok, guys, are we going to do this or not? I got my wing, and I'm ready for more.

Kevin, I want CF with center diffuser, and I'd even pay extra for the Duo setup that you did for Tapped. I want the same.

You are free to use the card you have on file for deposit money if/when we get GB critical mass on this.

<why did I give Kevin my card? It's like giving your card to a drug pusher, and I'm the addict....>

The Beast has left the station....

Sorry, nato, but I pulled the trigger and bought a unit they had in stock. Big thank yous to Kevin for offering prefered pricing to a repeat customer.

New wing, new diffuser, and new cage going in - will be ready to tear it up at Thunderhill in March....I CAN'T WAIT!
