Hello to everyone, my name is Aaron Overholser. I look forward to getting to learn from everyone on here about what is in my opinion the best automobile ever! I am 21 years old and have owned my 1986 GXL for 5 years. It was my first car and is stil my baby!
I have always found engines interesting and that is what first sparked my interest in RX7's. The idea of a rotary so intrigued me that I spent a year and a half searching for a nice RX7. I am from Greenville Ohio and the salt and poor taste of local drivers made finding a nice car difficult. Since my grandparents make the yearly trip to Florida with the geese each year, I informed them of what I was looking for to better widen my search area. After being in FL for a month Grandpa called me to say that he had found one in the paper. He went to look at it and that is the car I got. A 1986 GXL 5 speed with 86,000 miles for $1650!
I went to FL over Spring break my sophmore year and drove it home! That was fun! The car ran great all the way home and has been pretty decent considering that it is now 24 years old. I have replaced several mechanical items and repainted it last summer so it now looks as good as it runs. I hope to talk to many of you in the future!!
